The Great Scottish Craft Hoolie: Traditional Crafts weekend
Description
The Hoolie is back for 2025 - but it's not like anything you've seen before! This year, we’re running events on two back-to-back weekends in August, with guest workshops in between. This weekend will feature traditional crafts - from blacksmithing to screenprinting. It will be preceded by a weekend focusing on wood-based crafts - from carving to turning. We hope it will be an extravaganza of traditional crafts, all in a woodland setting. We have the following trainers teaching at the traditional crafts weekend: Mary Carr (blacksmith), Caitlin Hegney (jeweller), Emma Harrison (potter), Mobile Print Studio (screen printer), and Dee Leckie (hand weaver). Our Hoolie weekends are small, intimate affairs, where participants can camp onsite, have all their meals catered, learn new skills, and have a fantastic time socialising with like-minded folk. As a social enterprise, we're committed to reconnecting people to the woodlands through heritage and traditional skills and crafts, and the Hoolie is our annual celebration. During the weekends, you'll get take part in 3 workshops, hang out with other crafters and trainers, share skills and ideas, and get sociable. During the week, we'll have different focused workshops for you to attend - these will added as separate workshops for you to book. Choose from a fully catered, part-catered or non-catered weekend ticket. All weekend tickets include camping on our site. We also have a limited number of day tickets available (these include lunch).
