Introductory pottery wheel throwing taster sessions
Description
We look forward to welcoming you Woodsetton Pottery, established 1986. These pottery tasters need to be requested as we don’t have a set timetable so please submit a booking request and we will do our best to accommodate you. We enjoy running workshops as a day off from our normal pottery production! Taster workshops sessions are held at 10am morning and 2pm afternoon, accommodating anything from sessions for single people up to 14 sharing 7 wheels in summer. Your experience with us: Allow up to 2 hours for your visit. People of any age can throw up to about 3 pots on their own wheel in a fun hour plus. The remaining time is taken up with demonstrations by the potter and finishing (spouts on jugs for example) and learning how to preserve your favourite 3 pots to take home free of charge. All tools and clay included, just bring an apron. Please enquire about accessibility up ahead; two of our wheels are wheelchair accessible. In addition you can opt to have any or all of your pots expertly dried and expertly finished then bisque fired, then dipped in your choice of stoneware glaze and then fired again to make them oven/microwave/dishwasher/garden proof to last a lifetime. This extra service is charged at £10 per item to cover the time taken by the potters to finish and glaze your pots, and 30 plus hours of 2 electrical firing. Available to collect 4/6 weeks later.
