"The one day course was a real treat - such fun going from complete beginner to throwing a pot with the excellent guidance of Rowena. This gave me a very good and real view into the very many stages it takes to make a pot and the skill required. The only improvement would be if there could be an optional subsequent half day to apply the glazes, but I appreciate this may be a logistics nightmare."

Rowena was very enthusiastic and adapted the course to focus on the areas I wanted more help with. In just one day, I went from throwing small tealight holders to bowls and pourers I was really proud of. If you're looking for a little 'clay'cation, I cannot recommend Rowena's course enough! "Perfect way to exit lockdown. I was very new to throwing and Rowena was the perfect teacher. Her enthusiasm and knowledge was infectious. She was patient and provided so much insight into how different techniques are used without it being overwhelming. Not only that she was able to adapt techniques suit me. I saw so much progression in the lesson from starting by making a small olive bowl through to a vase by the end of it. Definitely recommend this to anyone starting out in the clay world and also people with years of experience. A day full of laughter and one you can take at your own pace. We loved how we got straight into throwing bowls as soon as we arrived and Rowena is a fantastic (and patient!) teacher. We spent the last few hours of the day making tiles and platters which is something that I have always wanted to do, and it was so interesting learning about all the coloured slips! I hadn't done any pottery for nearly 20 years and had never used a wheel, but Rowena is very patient, encouraging and great at explaining what to do (and giving a helping hand when needed!).
