Lino cut for textiles with Lovely Lydia at Cambridge Art Makers
Description
This is a lovely introduction to both lino cutting and the printmaking process, and creating your own textiles! On this course Lydia will talk through the basic techniques, how the materials work, and what you need (including where to get it!) to complete the course and carry on linocutting and printing fabric at home. Her mission is to get you printing! The method is very straight-forward, accessible for all abilities and easy to do at home…as printing goes, it’s pretty un-messy too! You will have the opportunity to explore your own designs and mix your own colours as well as using Lydia’s own linocuts and woodcut printing blocks. If you have your own woodcut blocks you are welcome to bring these too, just make sure they are clearly labelled, or you have a photograph of yours, so they don’t get muddled! All the equipment and materials you need on the day will be provided, with plenty of scrap fabric to practice on, plus a tea towel and tote bag for you to decorate This workshop is suitable for a complete beginner or those wishing to refresh their skills.
