Description

In this 3-hour jewellery workshop, you’ll learn how to measure your finger and calculate the amount of metal you need to make a gold-fill ring that fits perfectly. You’ll be experimenting with hammers to create your desired texture. You’ll also learn how to solder, shape, sand and polish your handmade stacking ring. We’ll practice in brass before moving on to gold fill. Gold fill consists of a thick layer of gold mechanically bonded to a base metal, typically brass or copper. This makes it a more affordable alternative to solid gold while still offering the appearance of real gold. It’s created by bonding a layer of gold to the base metal through a combination of heat and pressure. The gold layer is much thicker than gold plating, making gold-filled items more durable and long-lasting.
