Flush Setting March 14th 2025 £150.00 Flush setting Friday March 14th 2025 10-4pm Do you want to add to your gemstone setting skills by learning flush set? Want to try out flush but do not know where to start? This is the course for you. Or have you struggled with flush setting and feel you are missing something, or maybe you have mastered rounds and want to try flush setting a fancy shape? If so come along and push your skills. During the course of the day you will be challenged firstly to flush set 2mm round CZ into a training blank. After you become more comfortable (or warmed up) with the techinque you can extend the challenge to try an oval, square or pear shape. We will include best practices in metal thickness ratios, getting the geometry right, what tools are needed and how to clean up effectivly after setting. Please note this is a setting course - you will not be fabricating the training blanks. As part of the course you will be given a setting pack including practice blanks, cubic zircons for your training for setting on the day. A basic tool list will be emailed to you about 1 month before we meet. Rachel Hearne Jewellery School is a fully equipt jewellery studio meaning you will need to bring a minimal amount of tools (mostly burrs and bits) with you. Tool list TBC. Please arrive 15 min before the start of class. More detailed on tool list will be emailed before the class. She offers one to one tuition and specialist workshop classes from her purpose built fully equipt studio Rachel Hearne Jewellery School in Lancaster UK. She was lecturer of Jewellery and Silversmithing Nelson and Colne College, Cumbria Adult Learning and Lancashire Adult Learning teaching beginning, intermediate and advanced students for over 14 years giving her experience in teaching all abilites and ages.
