2 Day Traditional Painting on Stained Glass Workshop

Description

Have 2 creative days learning how to design and paint glass using the traditional method of stained glass painting, in a friendly, fun and encouraging 2 day workshop. Please contact me to discuss your project or which glass painting techniques you would like to learn using the "message the tutor" button as each workshop is individual for each learner. This is a practical course where you will learn to: DAY 1: - Create a design on paper. - Make a cut line cartoon drawing. - Cut the glass. -Learn to mix paint and apply it to create lines, curves and tracing. - Paint your design using tracing and matting techniques to create detail and tone. -Learn how to fire the painted pieces of glass in a kiln. DAY 2: - Lead up the panel. -Solder all the joints. -Apply hanging loops. - Finish with cement and polish. No artistic skills are required as pre-drawn designs will be available, however you are welcome to draw and make your own design to A3 in size. Course dates are flexible and the available dates are just a guide so please use the "message the tutor" button to contact me to discuss dates. But once glass is painted, it will need to be fired overnight in the kiln as the process takes some hours, so the 2 days need to be at least 2 days apart. Maximum of 3 people to ensure personalised and relaxed learning. Debra is a professional glass artist and a qualified and experienced tutor who runs a variety of courses throughout the year at her orchard cabin studio in Martock, Somerset.

What's included in the price?

All equipment and materials provided, but bring your own lunch as my studio is some way from a shop. Tea, coffee and biscuits are available throughout the day.
