Description
Have a creative day learning how to make a beautiful stained glass panel from a choice of a number of different patterns in a friendly, fun and encouraging one day workshop. Debra is a professional glass artist and a qualified and experienced tutor and runs a variety of courses throughout the year at her orchard cabin studio in Martock, Somerset. This is a practical course aimed at anyone wanting to learn the basic traditional technical skills to make their own small (A5) leaded stained glass panel. Classes in the studio are small with a maximum of 4 learners, ensuring personalised attention from Debra at all times. COURSE CONTENT: - Selecting suitable glass. - Scoring and cutting glass to fit a pattern design of 6-10 pieces of glass. - Glass grinding. - Fitting the glass and lead together into the design. - Soldering the lead. - Attaching hanging rings. - Cementing and polishing the finished panel. PLEASE NOTE: Working with stained glass and lead can be physical and messy. A certain amount of strength and flexibility is needed especially in the hands and wrists. You will be standing for some of the day. Working with lead is not advised when pregnant. All ages welcome from 16 onwards. Please do not wear open toed shoes in the studio. Bring reading glasses for close work. Wear old clothes.
What's included in the price?
All equipment and materials are provided as well as all safety equipment. Tea, coffee and biscuits are provided throughout the day. All you need to bring is a packed lunch.
