2.5 day Design and make class

Description

Design and make your own blacksmithing project over 2.5 days On this blacksmithing session 4 people will produce their own items to their chosen design over a period of 2.5 days, this course is more suitable for people wishing to build more complex and time consuming items like a gate, panels, or a fire guard for example. We will take your design idea and with Matt, break it down into processes to bring your own project to life and take your completed project home with you. You will be given an introduction into safety and use of the coke forges and tools, and then learn the basics of fire management and heating. You will be fully engaged and in charge of the production, and using the correct techniques to forge completely individual, good quality specific items. You'll be instructed and supported to learn the essential techniques of blacksmithing required to bring your piece to fruition receiving plenty of tutor support working in a small group of 4. All projects are individual and made by yourself, guaranteeing your sense of accomplishment. It is best to email us with your thoughts beforehand and we will adjust and advise for the time frame needed. This course starts on a Wednesday morning and ends on Friday at 1pm, accommodation can be arranged nearby if needed please email for further details. All tools and materials will be provided, please wear suitable clothing you don't mind getting dirty or marked. Cotton clothing is ideal like jeans and cotton shirt, please don't wear acrylic or nylon clothing. Refreshments of Tea and coffee are provided but you are advised to bring a lunch with you however a take out lunch can be arranged from the local pub.
