Day classes in traditional blacksmithing ... make an item to take away
Description
At my forge in the hills of the Pennines Learn traditional blacksmithing skills for the day. Using a coke fired forge, hammer and anvil you will make an item to take away at the end of the day. Classes are tailored to the individual (or groups of up to 3.) Various items can be made; a hand forged knife, forged spoon, fire poker, toasting fork, or an ornamental pendant (other items can be made by prior arrangement). After a basic health and safety talk, I will demonstrate the techniques of making an item, step by step, then let you make the item tutoring you through the process to create a finished piece.
What's included in the price?
All materials are included in costs Basic PPE (ie eye protection and gloves if needed). Tea coffee and biscuits through out the day Vegetarian/and or vegan lunch can be provided by prior arrangement and additional cost Camping and basic accomodation can also be provided by prior arrangement and additional cost

Hi ive been working as an artist blacksmith for the last 22 years originaly studying blacksmithing at Holm Lacey Centre for Rural Crafts in Hereford.Over these years ive undertaken numerous commisions both for public and private customers ranging from large archways and gates to parks to small bespoke items and sculptures. ive run workshops and demos at craft fairs and at my own forge ,teaching all age groups and abilitys and have always had positive feedback from the participants
