Anne reviewed: Fused glass workshop with Helen from The Butterfly Effect Studio in Halford.

"A great day with Helen, clear explanations, support when needed and suggestions of what would work well, but it is my work and I am so happy with the results. Relaxing, fun, laughter and tools that were easy for beginners to use, which is not always the case. I will go again."

Butterfly Effect Studio responded:

"Hi Anne, I really appreciate you taking the time to submit your review at such a busy time of year. I’m delighted you enjoyed it as I know you have attended several workshops at other venues. Both you and Marion created some beautiful items, I imagine they have pride of place in your home. Thanks and it would be lovely to see you again at future workshops."

"Spent a very enjoyable day learning all about oils, actives and preservatives. Made amazing products to take home together with a comprehensive workbook so I can continue this exciting craft. There’s nothing better than making my own cleansers, balms, creams/lotions and facial oils, knowing exactly what’s gone in them, tailored to what my skin needs. Allison is extremely knowledgeable and passionate in the subject which makes the experience first class."

Kate reviewed: Weave a scarf in a day - handloom weaving

"Myself and 2 friends did this course in November and thoroughly enjoyed the day. The groups are small and the mix of group tuition and one-to-one teaching was excellent. The fact that you can weave your own scarf in one day is unique, from learning about the technical aspects of the loom and the yarn, choosing our own colour-ways, setting-up our looms, weaving our scarves through to finishing them off and in our case, wearing them home! Zero prior experience required, we were all beginners. Highly recommended."

Steve reviewed: Gem cutting - cabochon cutting and an introduction to faceting

"The course was very good. I had the choice of 3 different gems to polish, I decided on a Garnet because of the colour. James explained and demonstrated each step with a lot of skill and patience. I was more than pleased with the end result. My advice to anyone looking to learn or get an insight into gem cutting/polishing is you would be hard pushed to find a better intro anywhere. I will be going back for more."

Treasureworks responded:

"Thank you very much Steve! I really enjoyed our lesson, it was great to meet you. I'm looking forward to showing you how to facet a gemstone at some point in the future, you're definitely welcome back! Regards, James :)"

Irene mcdermott reviewed: Candlemaking workshops for beginners in Hastoe, nr Tring

"I cannot recommend highly enough this course, Anne is such a lovely person who made the course such an enjoyable relaxing day. She showed us how to make candles from the beginning to being able to take away our own delightfully scented and good quality candles. Her teaching method was perfect very easy to follow. A great value course I have recommended to friends. I actually have been twice on my own and this is a suitable event for individuals or friends. Very welcoming and friendly even if you attend alone."

Lots of really good advice in a friendly and non-competitive environment from a hugely gifted and experienced woodcarver. Many thanks to Barbara for a tasty lunch, too. Learn, explore and be inspired."
