He has a good classroom space and provides all equipment needed including a good choice of glass. A generous and patient tutor, I recommend his classes wholeheartedly."

Debby Da Silva reviewed: Glass fusing workshop - 1 day

"I had a great day working with Gill in her garden workshop. I had never worked with glass before but was reassured by the excellent teaching and support I was given and thoroughly enjoyed working on a couple of projects - one a stand alone piece and the other a lantern requiring 4 panels. Gill gave me ideas and helped me achieve a better standard than otherwise possible. Lunch was tasty and gave me the energy needed to see me through the afternoon session I would definitely recommend this course to anyone interested in trying glass working. Thank you both so much."

Fired Glass responded:

"Thank you Debby for your positive review. Our aim is to get everyone a positive experience be they new or experienced with fused glass. Regards John and Jill"

Laura reviewed: Beginners silversmithing workshop

"As Polly says above, Kami is a lovely person: she’s enthusiastic, caring and interested in her students. We had a great time, with Kami supporting us to turn our very vague ideas into beautiful reality. She was able to accommodate two people doing very different things and using two different sets of skills and stayed attentive to us the whole time. We’ve definitely got the jewellery making bug and that’s Kami’s doing! Thank you Kami!"

Mya Designs responded:

"Hey Laura, thanks so much for coming to the workshop and glad you had some ideas of what you wanted to make and happy to be guided through the stages. Both of your pieces are fabulous! Thanks for a lovely review too :)"

Mark Harrison reviewed: Knife making weekend Gloucestershire

"I would strongly recommend this course. Arian is a patient and knowledgeable tutor and the venue is excellently set up for it. For a project that requires so many different techniques and steps, it flowed through well. Whilst timing is key, we never felt rushed or panicked and Arian was able to support us all despite us making quite the variety of knives. I had never worked with steel or wood before, but this didn't stop me as a beginner being able to produce a unique and personal kitchen knife. Again, this was a great course and venue and my thanks to Arian for a great weekend."

Neil Gow reviewed: Woodturning for beginners

"I came to this course having fond memories of wood turning in school. Stuart, from the start, was welcoming and instantly put me at ease. Stuart asked what I wanted out of the day and I had asked for a basic understanding of setup and a introduction to the basics. We spoke at length about his lathes and other kit in his workshop (which is worth the trip up alone to see). We done some basic turning techniques. I must say sturt is incredibly patient as my ability was no where near where I thought it would be! We then went on to make a pear, had lunch, then the afternoon was some more theory (which I really enjoyed, understanding the theory behind it) a walk through of various pieces of work dotted around his workshop and how they were made and what still had to be done to them. We then went on to produce a awesome oak donut bowl. In summary awesome day, friendly passionate and incredibly knowledgeable teacher. Great venue and worth every penny."

The Scottish Woodturner responded:

"Hi Neil, Thanks for your review. As the day went on I could see that you were progressing quickly. The school woodturning classes will give you some of the basics but with a very limited range of tools. I'm sure that you will do even better once you have your own lathe set up. All the best. Stuart."
