Crafts in the Valley - Winter Birds - Festive Fused Glass Three Little Birds Fused Glass Workshop - half day class - morning and afternoon sessions available. These workshops take place at my studio in Cragg Vale, Mytholmroyd, Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire. Morning 9.30 am - 12.30 pm Afternoon 2.00pm- 5.00pm These workshops take place at the Creative Chameleon Studio in Cragg Vale, Mytholmroyd. A short 10 minute drive from the quirky town of Hebden Bridge in West Yorkshire. This workshop is a 3hr session allowing you to create a three lovely hanging glass birds and two pieces of dichroic glass jewellery. On this workshop you will firstly have a go at scoring and cutting glass. You will then be given the base shape of your glass birds which you can decorate using powdered frits and stencils. Extra detail can be added using glass jewels, millefiori beads, stringers and glass pebbles. You will have access to top quality glass fusing materials. As an extra treat, you will also make two pieces of fabulous dichroic glass jewellery or an extra bird! This workshop includes refreshments, cake, all materials, jewellery fittings and firing. Maximum 8 participants, so lots of personal support if you need it. Suitable for beginners and for those who have completed Fused Glass workshops previously. Your Fused Glass work will be fired and ready for collection 1 -2 weeks later. Postage costs extra. Private group workshops are available on request.

I’m Melanie, I deliver a range of creative art and craft workshops from my studio in Cragg Vale, near Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire. As an artist and craftsperson, I enjoy playing with fused glass and textiles. I’m inspired by the array of colour and texture found in nature. I’m a fully qualified secondary school Art and Design teacher with a BA Hons Degree in Fashion and Textiles. A workshop with Crafts in the Valley is a special day out, learn creative skills and de-stressing! We refer to it as Creative Escapism.
