Kelly reviewed: Introduction to Frame Loom Weaving

"Alice is lovely and the hot walls a fantastic environment to spend a day crafting and making with like minded people. On the day we completed a project from setting up the loom at the beginning of the day to finishing off our weave with tassels before we headed home. I would highly recommend the workshop."

Richard Bunce reviewed: A fabulous introduction to fused glass - one day course

"A really good day. Very satisfying to start from nowhere, and learn enough to make three pieces ready to go in the kiln. A week later, I've collected the finished work and it's very pleasing to see that they have turned out as well as Siobhan said they would! Highly recommended. And the lunch is good too."

Lauren reviewed: Woodturning courses in Hampshire - Beginners and improvers wood turning courses - Turn British, all British lathes!!

"This was bought as a last minute activity day by my boyfriend. We had a great time with Andy teaching us how to turn a bowl, would definitely recommend it to anyone who is even remotely interested in this craft and don't worry you don't need any wood turning or similar skills. Thankfully Andy will come and rescue you if you start shaving off large parts of your bowl and it starts to resemble more of a plate!"

Helen Nolan reviewed: Wood turning courses in the Midlands

"My children bought me a days course as a gift. I was quite nervous as I’m a real beginner. I thoroughly enjoyed the day and left feeling much more confident. We covered so much and I also came away with written notes and a lovely bowl that has really impressed my children!! Mark is an excellent teacher and very knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend this course."

Gerry Lemon reviewed: Intermediate woodworking course

"I have completed Ciaran's Beginners and Intermediate Courses, the former over 10 weeks and the latter over 2 weekends. I enjoyed both and would highly recommend them. I had no previous experience of woodworking but this was not a barrier as Ciaran has infinite patience and is a very able and experienced teacher. The facilities provided in his converted workshop are excellent and all the tools required are of the highest quality and maintained in excellent condition. The faciility in Alvanley is easily accessible from the M56 motorway. I certainly will take advantage of any further courses."

Edna reviewed: Make a silver ring or bangle

"I have been coming to Lucy for nearly a year now and my pendant is evolving into a stunning piece. I originally wanted a lesson in enamelling. However with Lucy's skill and a lot of my imagination being stretched with some test enamelling on the way, my pendant has gone into a completely new direction. I have never felt so proud or believed that I was capable of making something so technically and aesthetically good. All thanks to Lucy. I have the utmost respect for her expertise and patience in guiding me through the process of jewellery making. It is more than art and craft you gain from Lucy"

Louise Jones reviewed: Beginners Candlemaking for Two - Anglesey, Wales

"I treated my friend to the Christmas candle workshop a few weeks ago and we had a delightful session at the Candle Alchemist. The friendly nature of Anita and her knowledge and top tips and encouragement throughout our session made for a thoroughly enjoyable morning. She structured the course really well to allow us to be creative and achieve a practical and nice candle by the end of the session. My candles are pride of place with my Christmas ornaments. I would wholeheartedly recommend anyone to attend her workshops either in a small group or a larger party. All in all we left feeling like we'd had a good creative session and a catch up and learnt a new skill along the way. Thanks Anita :-)"

"This November day was a birthday treat, rounding off the year with a new challenge - the technique of enamelling. Lucy also introduced me to heated titanium as an additional way of bringing colour into a design - one for my next project! Chad Frary reviewed: Blacksmithing, bladesmithing and metal craft

"I attended a 2 day workshop with Nigel in December. Initial comms were good, and Nigel adjusted his calendar to accommodate me on the Friday. The course was excellent, with Nigel offering the tuition as required, then trust you to "have a go" yourself, offering guidance on how to improve your skills. Nigel guided me on making some traditional pokers (not your boring type, really fancy), drifts, devils horns, tongs, etc. Everything I needed to get myself started at home! Safety is paramount in his workshop, especially as you have access to hot forges, metal, powerhammers, etc. Nigel ensures the environment is a safe place to learn the amazing art of blacksmithing. Don't hesitate, book now to learn from the master blacksmith! Thanks Nigel and Maxine...."

Danielle Harrison reviewed: 6 wk Mixed Level Jewellery Making at Jewellery Workshop Leeds

"I have just completed the 10wk mixed level evening jewellery course, as well as the one day stone setting workshop. Bernard and Jane have been nothing but patient, helpful and encouraging. Their knowledge of jewellery, techniques, stones, shops and tools is incredibly extensive, and are on hand to answer any and every question! This, combined with their teaching capabilities made the course incredibly useful and enjoyable for me. I have learnt and made so much in the past 10wks, which wouldn't have been possible without their expertise and help. The workshop itself has a vast range of equipment and tools to help with whatever projects you may want to do. Bernard and Jane also sell silver, chains, some tools etc so everything is very accessible. There is plenty of space and tools in the workshop, and the atmosphere is very relaxed making it a really enjoyable environment to work in. As well as being taught the practical side of how to make things, the processes behind everything you do is also explained, so you understand the reasons behind what you are doing. This has really helped me gain confidence, understand the processes a lot more, and know which tools to use for the job. Whether you are looking to start a new hobby, improve on your skills or start a career in jewellery making, Bernard and Jane will do everything they can to help you achieve your goals. Thank you for all your help so far B&J!"

Angelika Neal reviewed: Beginner’s Soapmaking Workshop in Salisbury

"I went to Catherine's soap making workshop with my daughter because we wanted to do a craft activity together for her birthday. We had a great time! Catherine is not only very knowledgable, but also very passionate about soap making. We learnt a lot, had fun and went home with gorgeous soaps, which not only look great but also smell heavenly. Some will be used for Christmas presents, but some we will keep for our own use. We are definitely hooked on soap making and will make our own soaps again in future"

"I found the two day felting course very enjoyable. I arrived with no knowledge of felting, and left having learnt how to mix wools and various other techniques. Bridget was very organised and explained everything very clearly. I'm very proud with my finished piece of felt work and would definitely do another course if i had the opportunity. Thank you very much for the experience, hope to see you again next year."

"I’ve now done a few of Gigha’s workshops and can say that each one has been great fun. I’ve learnt a lot and started off as a complete novice. Gigha is very patient and an easy going tutor. She is there if you need one to one help but for those who have been before she lets you go and do your own thing. A very well organised workshop, lunch, coffee and sweet treats are very nice as well!"

"I would like to say a big thank you to Denise who gave me a class in making Roman Blinds. It was very informative and I got to take the sample Roman Blind I made home with me. I was also given written instructions with detailed drawings for me to keep and use in the future if needed. I would recommend this one day course to anyone who would like to learn how to make their own Roman Blinds as Denise's friendly yet thorough teaching method was perfect. Thank you"
