Craig S reviewed: Box making weekend in Cumbria

"Excellent course. Mark was outstanding in showing us everything and we were never kept idle. This was my first time wood working and everything was made exceptionally clear and simple. The materials and tools were also second to none and all thoroughly detailed and explained. I can not recommend this course enough!"

Craig H reviewed: Full day leather craft workshop

"I'd give this course 6 stars if I could! Rosanna is a superb tutor and this day flew past, leaving me with tons of knowledge and new skills and a handful of leather items that look professionally made - friends were stunned to hear I'd made them that day with my own hands! I couldn't recommend Rosanna and this course highly enough. I turned up at her studio in Kent with no experience with leather at all, and have gone away with the ability to make hand-stitched items at home, and experience with sewing leather on an industrial machine too. The course covered cutting, gluing, lining, adding rivets and fastenings, tools and suppliers too, and all with good insights and great conversation. If you have any interest in leather, or just like making stuff, then give this course a go, you won't be disappointed!"

"Lots of ideas available to help you create your landscape, taught at a speed that kept individuals on task and supported. A great range of coloured fleece available to work with which enabled me to make my landscape how I imagined it. Very pleased with my results, the time flew by and there was a good atmosphere in the room. I would recommend this course to others!"

Eleanor Gaylard reviewed: Hand Spinning For All - Norfolk

"My friend and I spent a wonderful day with Theresa. We learned to card wool and then spin it. We learned the washing processes. Theresa is a wonderful teacher, and immediately made us confortable and confident to ask questions. Her studio is a lovely location; it is spacious and a lovely workplace. We both came away inspired to do more, and armed with wool we had spun ourselves. We very highly recommend The Spinning Barn."

Tracy Metcalfe reviewed: Free Taster Intuitive Art for Healing & Well Being art class/free group

"Kas has taught me to 'go with my gut' after a challenging change of direction in my life. It was not easy and I had to take a leap of faith. With Kas's guidance, therapeutic intuitive art enabled me to make sense of what what happening, and often why; there were always good reasons for change, even if we may have been fearful of them. Today I flourish. I thrive. My lifestyle is quite a bit different in someway and not so different in other ways - but more than ever I am in tune with my sense of self. Kas's short courses influence my own artistic practice as well as helping me to review the stage that I am at in the journey of life. I know instinctively now when I need to create; draw, paint, collage for insight on matters that I am not clear on, for self-care, or for my own work. Recently I have just made a big decision regarding my own teaching again - I now feel feel and sense a big period of creativity; I am also going through menopause - not an easy time - creating intuitively helps me to relax and slow down and take care of myself; I am taking part in two exhibitions in the next couple of months and I feel very creative and excited about them. Why should you do one of Kas's courses? I think they empower us. Help us grow in self-confidence. Teach us to value who we are and what we have to offer others. I am certain you will take away with you a gift that will last and continue to teach you, encourage reflection and show that you are honouring your own unique native powers."

Lionel Hickman reviewed: Woodcarving for beginners - two day course in Suffolk

"I was lucky enough to find Gerry a couple of years ago having previously carved with another group. Simply put, he is a Master Carver who is eager to pass on his considerable knowledge to all of his students. He does this by example, and patient guidance, with tuition methods that enable his students to produce work that previously they, just maybe, would not have attempted. Gerry's soft spoken approach creates a very encouraging and enjoyable carving experience every week"

Lesley Murdoch reviewed: Mosaic class

"My husband and I have just had a wonderful 4 night break with Dawn at Red Lodge. He went cycling into the beautiful moorland whilst I had an amazing two days making a mosaic. Dawn is a great host making you feel very welcome in her lovely home. She plans her courses meticulously so that every part runs smoothly and nothing is too much trouble. Dawn is an encouraging tutor providing unlimited support and advice whilst giving you space to develop your own creativity. There are lots of examples of her work around the house and books and ideas to inspire you. In addition to her creative skills Dawn is also a great cook so we were treated to a delicious home cooked lunch and cake during the course and the breakfasts were also lovely, especially the fresh fruit salad every morning. I am now the proud owner of my own mosaic and feel completely rested and spoilt. We both agreed it was the best B and B we have ever stayed at."

Deborah Perryer reviewed: One day silver jewellery making in Worcestershire.

"What a wonderful day! Calm, relaxing environment and excellent tuition. We were made to feel at ease with as much practice as we wanted with copper wire and sheets before moving on to silver. We learnt how to cut, smooth and polish the silver and ended up with a pair of stud earrings, which everyone has admired. I would thoroughly recommend this course and will certainly be going back again. The homemade cake was delicious and a lovely touch."

Roger Morse reviewed: Woodcarving for beginners - two day course in Suffolk

"I was pleased to be able to restart wood carving on my retirement having been an occasional carver. Gerry is a very supportive teacher with the emphasis on guiding and encouraging everyone to 'do it on their own' which increases the confidence of each carver. The mutual class support is also helpful. It is clear to me everyone enjoys their weekly class and we are all more confident carvers from our tuition. Always a most enjoyable part of my week."

Debs Stourton reviewed: Introduction to stone setting 2 day course

"Three of us arranged a bespoke date for the 2 day course with Jonathan and what I can say is that it was a fabulous, informative and inspiring two days. Aside from the great introduction to stone setting that it gave us, we also learned a lot about gemstones themselves. I had no idea that there were so many options and cuts available and Jonathan shared his in-depth knowledge with us and gave us great advice on buying stones, as well as different types available. He provided in depth worksheets/information guides as well as ring sizing, carat weight and gemstone charts (nicely laminated for a mucky workshop!) that I think will be invaluable in future, for both revision and general use. I can speak for us all in that we can now go ahead with confidense with basic stone setting, the process has been demysitified, and with this wonderful workshop as a solid grounding feel far more able to stone set as a part of our jewellery making attempts! Thoroughly recommend the course and the teas and coffee and biscuits and great lunches were a definite bonus too. five"

Joanne Bibb reviewed: Beginners Dressmaking - Learn to sew a dress in a day in Wokingham

"I absolutely loved this course. To be able to complete a project in one day is great rather than commit to a few hours over several weeks. I was so proud of my dress afterwards and ordered more material that same week to make another dress. Sheona is so patient and explains things very clearly. I have been bitten by the dressmaking bug and hope to do another one of Sheona's classes."

Ben Angus reviewed: A Practical Dry Stone Walling Workshop Central London

"What a fantastic hands on day, building dry stone walls (dsw) in a lovely community park in south London. our expert teacher, John, gave us an insight into the art of dry stone walling. Straight away we got into working with the materials and the tools and discussed the history, theory and techniques of DSW. I would really recommend getting involved in this course. It has given me knowledge and an appreciation of the art and skill of dsw, and I look forward to looking out for these great structures be they on the British hillside or even (as we found out) supporting the terraced soils of Tuscan orchards!"
