Alistair reviewed: A stool making day

"Fantastic day - really enjoyed it, and - as you said - learned a huge amount. Definitely very enthused about taking up woodworking if and when I get some spare time! Your ‘faculty’ are really good - helpful, fun and friendly. We will definitely be back - possibly to make a shaving horse so that we can start up at home. I appreciate that we have a huge amount to learn, but today was a great start. Just feeling the wood and seeing it transform was really fulfilling. Thanks for the soup and bread too! If we don’t see you before, we will be at the gallery for our usual Christmas shop. Sláinte Alistair and Claire"

Belinda Graham reviewed: Bespoke candle making workshop - Edinburgh

"What a great morning I had attending Kerry's workshop in the beautiful village of Temple learning the art of candle making! Kerry is lovely and so knowledgable about every aspect of candle making and candle care and she has inspired me to start making my own soy candles at home. She has a beautiful range of her own candles available to buy with the most amazing scents. Oh, and the home made cake and coffee was a real treat! I highly recommend Kerry's workshop to anyone who loves candles or as a gift voucher for creatives types."

"Kerrylyn has an amazing gift - not only informative in her chosen craft but as a hostess she was warm and welcoming. Her knowledge and attention to detail could not be faulted and I will be delighted to join her in 2018 for her scent blending workshop. I've now lit my candle from the class after letting it cure and I'm amazed at the result. Lovely way to spend a morning. X"

Matilda reviewed: Introduction to Spoon Carving

"I did a one day spoon carving course in September 2017. Chris is a brilliant teacher, clear and knowledgeable. He explained each thing first and then again as we were doing things. I had never used an axe before and I really enjoyed learning how to. It was a peaceful day and Chris was relaxed, patient and encouraging, giving each of us advice as needed but not hovering or dictating. His passion is evident and inspiring. Surroundings are beautiful and comfortable and the lunch was delicious. Follow-up notes including tool recommendations were particularly useful. I would have no hesitation recommending Chris to anybody interested in doing greenwood work. Thanks Chris"

Klara reviewed: Make a silver ring or bangle

"Faster than before, the silver ring with gold wires and granules - new technique of applications for me - was also completed. This was my fifth and last day in the one-to-one week with Lucy. Knowing I would spend a further day in Bodfari, Lucy gave me good ideas how to spend this time. So I went to the local pub "Dinorben Arms" and had an excellent meal in this nice reastaurant combining tradition with new architecture. I also walked the famous Offa's Dyke Path, which crosses Bodfari. Finally, Lucy gave me a comprehensive collection of fotos documenting me, my work, the working process and the skills and techniques she taught me. But beyond that all, the encounter with Lucy gave me much more - it has also enriched me on a personal level."

Klara reviewed: Make a silver ring or bangle

"On this sunny day the Keum boo errings were completed. It was a very busy day also because we got through the basic skills too while applying them to a more advanced project. Earwires attached: aren't they beautiful? We are both happy and satisfied - it's high time we started the second project."

Klara reviewed: Make a silver ring or bangle

"The third day : a real Keum boo day. Theory was put into practice. Lucy's supportive attitude to your project makes you feel how valuable it is what you are creating. Talking shop while working and informal conversations in the lunch breaks gradually gave me the opportunity for deeper insights into making art in form of jewellery."

Klara reviewed: Make a silver ring or bangle

"Keum boo can prove to be an intricate technique of applying gold foil on silver, especially on a 3-D object - or two objects, in my case, the project being a pair of errings. Lucy understands to motivate and to encourage you, she is warmheartedly strict in your own interest and to the advantage of a project promising success. She spares no effort to ensure you realize your goal."

Hilary Cartwright reviewed: Bespoke candle making workshop - Edinburgh

"I went to Kerrylyn's Can to Candle workshop this morning ,with a group of friends which I would recommend as I learned and laughed so much . I will most definitely choose my candles with greater care and to "trim my wick "frequently . I'm not naturally creative but I learned so much about types of wax and oils and how to burn a candle effectively and I loved the whole experience of making my own candle to bring home. I bought another starter pack and several unique gifts and would highly recommend this course !!!!"

"On arriving in beautiful Wales, I received a warm welcome at the weekend - and started a 5-day workshop with Lucy on Monday. On the first day, Lucy showed me the importance of meticulous planning and designing. A "storyboard" was put together and the project of a pair of Keum boo earrings started to take shape."
