We also provide upholstery and cushion making workshops. TRADITIONAL LAMPSHADE WORKSHOP (Saturday 9.30am - 1pm) This fast track two day workshop will provide you with the skills to make a balloon lined bowed empire shade using traditional methods and hand stitching techniques. Learn how to bind the frame, template and fit your top fabric and lining, finishing with a hand stitched bias trim. No previous sewing experience is required, you will be guided through each stage. MODE Upholstery School is an independent training facility offering professional and leisure courses in traditional & modern upholstery and soft furnishings since 2012. All of our courses are limited to 5 students ensuring you receive a high level of individual attention and guidance. They run continually throughout the year giving you the flexibility to choose your start date. If you're contemplating a change of career our Upholstery Business Course is a perfect fast track course designed specifically to provide comprehensive training for you to start a career within the upholstery sector. The course will provide you with an excellent level of practical skills and a understanding of the legal regulations and requirements of being a professional upholsterer. You do not need any previous experience to enrol on the business course. We also run cushion making courses and modern lampshade workshops. Terms and Conditions You will be learning in an environment with workshop tools. The student will agree to familiarise themselves with and follow all health and safety procedures and requirements in order to safeguard themselves and others around them and follow all instructions given by the course tutor and posted instructions in the training room. Any recorded material taken during the course in any form must not be reproduced, copied or distributed in any form or on any medium to include social networking sites under any circumstances without the express written permission of Sarah Wood Upholstery. If you need to cancel for any reason you can rebook or a full refund will be provided as long as you cancel within 2 weeks of your booked date. MODE Upholstery School reserves the right to cancel a course in the event of any unforeseen circumstances or because minimum numbers have not been reached. In these circumstances an alternative date/s will be offered or a full refund given.

What's included in the price?

Please bring along your lunch. Tea, coffee & biscuits/cake available throughout the day. Everything is included apart from your top fabric and thread for the lampshade classes, if you wish to bring your own sewing machine along please do so. There's secure parking at the farm and everything is on the ground floor so no stairs to negotiate.
