Tom Birley reviewed: Learn to turn in Snowdonia - taster course

"i took my girlfriend lizzi to go and do an introduction into woodturning as it is something i have got interest in. Les was kind, encouraging and a great teacher. He demonstrated his vast knowledge of the tools and how to use them correctly as well as his knowledge of wood. He gave us lots of opportunities to use the tools and if we were struggling he would come and give us extra support when doing more challenging techniques. i got to experiment with beading techniques on my sycomore wooden bowl whilst Lizzi made a fruit bowl out of walnut wood with some scorched lines. We were both incredibly proud of the product we made. Overall, we have thoroughly enjoyed our experience, would recommend it to anyone looking to learn a new skill. We are definitely going back to seeing Les again. Thank you Les you were brilliant"

"Both my mum and eldest daughter enjoyed your skin care course very much and were very impressed by the amount of information and the number of products they made and felt it was very enjoyable and comprehensive course in a nice relaxed atmosphere. The small size of your courses is also a definite plus. Thank you again. Adrian"

Maid in the Meadow responded:

"Thank you so much for your feedback Adrian. I am so glad your Mum and Daughter had a lovely, relaxing day together and enjoyed the workshop and the products they made."

Laura C reviewed: Stained glass sun-catcher workshop: Hampshire

"I attended Rachels Stained Glass Christmas Decoration workshop back in December as i wanted to try something new. I really enjoyed myself and found the whole process very relaxing and therapeutic. Her studio is cosy and busy; full of inspiration. The instruction from Rachel was fab and tailored to each person. I didnt quite finish my decorations so booked to attend again! The second workshop was just as enjoyable. Fab workshop if you want to learn all the skills needed to start a new hobby, or to just make some beautiful items as gifts or for your home. The endless tea and biscuits were an added bonus :)"

Frances Abernethy reviewed: Conscious Interior Decor; For holistic living

"A complete novice here to Interior Design and thoroughly enjoyed my day, it was excellent. I will look at fabrics, colours, textures etc. in a totally whole new light, after attending the taster. Lucy, is very informative, and a lovely host & tutor, offering tips and assistance on the tasks. I found it all quite inspiring, so much so that on my return home ordered my colour wheel, interior design book and upholstery kit. As, I attended Lucy's one day Upholstery course, last month which was interesting, fun and I learnt a lot. Lunch & cakes on both days, was delicious in a lovely setting of Derbyshire. I would definitely recommend a course with Lucy's."

Kate Allan reviewed: Alien spoon carving

"I really enjoyed this one day course as my first experience of spoon carving. Alan provided all materials and tools (and a nice lunch) and guided us through the process of getting started safely. His enthusiasm, knowledge, expertise and skill in demonstrating and supporting enabled me not only to start with a log and go home with a spoon, but also with the confidence to continue by myself. Overall a very good experience - fun, challenging, informative and a great introduction to the fascinating world of spoon carving. Thanks, Alan!"

Nikki reviewed: Sculpture, ceramics, painting at Lucky Studio - London

"I've been going to Lucky for nearly a year now and would thoroughly recommend her friendly and interesting studio. She is a great teacher who inspires creativity and confidence in what ever you are doing and I really like that I can try all different aspects of art from pot throwing and sculptures to charcoal drawing and painting. The flexibility in when you can attend classes is really helpful for me too as my work is freelance and unpredictable. Thanks Lucky!"

Mary Stapleton reviewed: Needle felt workshop

"I cannot recommend this course highly enough! I had always wanted to have a go at needle felting (since I saw it on Kirsty Allsop's programme) but had never had the confidence to do it on my own. Louise is such a lovely lady and a very patient tutor and I learnt loads about this fabulous craft. The puffin I made is perfect and you can see on her website all the animals you can make at her workshops are so realistic. The materials she uses are really top quality and you took away needles and a felting pad so you could carry on at home. It was also a really fun day, as we all chatted with Louise and each other having coffee and cake as we worked. The setting is beautiful too and you can wander around the gorgeous garden when you have a break. Louise's course is also way way cheaper than any others I have seen. Book now you won't regret it!"

Sharon Richardson reviewed: Needle felt workshop

"My friend and I had a great day felting with Louise. I had done a little felting before and my friend was a complete beginner. The course was suitable for both of us as Louise gave patient help as required. I came away with a squirrel and my friend made a badger. All materials and equipment were included in the price and we came away with a needles and sponge too. It was a very enjoyable and creative day."

Kit Anderson reviewed: Plaster mould making for slip cast ceramics with Ed Bentley

"If you want to develop your ideas Ed is your man!! On the strength of my previous experience of doing training with Ed , I returned to do two days tuition on the plaster lathe. As before, his excellent knowledge and understanding of the craft is an absolute godsend and it's great to work with someone who really can assist you and support the development of new work. I was able to turn three new shapes and make the block moulds ready for making the 'Case'- Great fun and more than happy to work at my pace!!"

"I got this for me and my partner. We have a pretty full on life with many hobbies but quite often do something a bit different to mix it up a bit and even with this, my partner described this as the 'best day out he's EVER had.' Ricky was great at guiding us through and we got through so much during the day."

Kate Gwatkin reviewed: Weaving peaframes and hurdles at Usk Castle Chase

"My husband and I both thoroughly enjoyed the willow pea frame and hurdle course. Brilliant day. Fantastic venue at Usk Castle. Came back to do the basket weaving course later in the year. Would recommend to anyone. Makes a fantastic present. Amanda is a great teacher. Keeping the numbers on the course small means we all get to make the perfect hurdle and pea frame. Which have stood in my garden all year. Her daughters homemade cake was delicious too!"

Hugh reviewed: Willow skep hive (Alveari) making - with Bees for Development

"I really enjoyed the day. The pace of the day was good, plenty of coffee/biscuits, and lovely food in the Yew Tree Inn for lunch. All the participants were friendly and encouraging. Chris was very helpful and supportive, giving plenty of advice, and “nudging” my work back into shape on several occasions! I was very pleased to leave with a skep - maybe not perfectly circular, but nonetheless a perfect home for bees, serendipitously about 40 litres in volume. We were given the option between two types of skep - given the option again, as a novice, I think I would choose to make the simpler design out of the two offered, to end up with a better quality finish. I hope to utilise the skills learned on the day in the future."

Sarah Calvert reviewed: Ceramic Studio Experience - Sunday Clay Day - Full Day Tutor Interactive Workshop

"L❤VED IT! Both Geri & Sue were both extremely knowledgable and great at explaining things in layman terms. I learnt loads and 'created' quite a bit too. We over ran by an hour as we were so enthused but we felt no pressure to leave. 10/10 for enjoyment, education and value for money. I will definitely return at some point to do more and, can highly recommend this day particularly, if spent with friends plus, there's a great farm-shop next door for a tasty picnic lunch."
