Kay Thurstan reviewed: Needle felted puffin

"Loved the class and learned so much. We got to know the names of the different wool and needle sizes. Some of us made pictures while others made hares. Help and advice was on hand whenever we needed it . I started off with a section of core wool which I transferred into a lovely hare (much to my surprise). There were people new to felting like myself and people who have been before and wanted to do more. Tea, coffee and biscuits were made available and all we needed was a packed lunch. I would highly recommend the courses as Rachael is an amazing teacher."

2 Inspire You responded:

"thank you so much Kay, I am glad you enjoyed it so much. It is always nice to see different projects coming to life in the same room. There is such a lovely magical transformation as the wool takes shape and suddenly there is a creature there in front of you! We look forward to seeing you on the 8th December."

Jacqueline Walker reviewed: Stained glass weekly classes in Sheffield (South Yorkshire)

"I have been wanting to take up a craft as a hobby for sometime but struggled to find something that appealed as most craft courses seem to be based around sewing. My search is over! I have just finished my first course and have loved every minute of the Friday morning stained glass course. I'm really pleased with my first two 'practice' pieces and have nearly finished my own third piece. Kate has been a great teacher; she is very knowledgeable and patient. She explains and demonstrates every stage of the process and and never seems to mind my asking her to show me how to do something again for the umpteenth time! Now I just need to think of my next project ready to start the next course in January...."

Janette Scott reviewed: Felt Pictures-Painting with fibres - intro to 2D wet felting/felt making

"I really enjoyed the felt workshops, and produced two lovely pieces of work with Heather's fantastic help. She is a great teacher, explaining not only the whole felting process but the history behind it too. She very patiently took us through what to do, and kept a careful eye on us all as we progressed with our work. In the second week I did a portrait of my dog, which at first seemed a but over ambitious, but Heather really helped me produce something which is good enough to give as a Christmas present. Heather is very generous with the high quality materials and there is a fabulous array of colours to choose from. It was really fun, interesting and therapeutic!"

Louise Rozhon reviewed: Needle felted puffin

"A superb day from start to finish. I wasn't sure what to expect and, attending by myself, was a little nervous but what a fantastic day! I met a lovely group of ladies and we shared our learning, our biscuits and some gossip too! I created a gorgeous needle felted hare, yes me, I made it! Rach is a great teacher, patient and kind, explaining everything in a clear way and often several times! I would highly recommend a course with Heartfelt 2 Inspire, I think I may be a bit hooked!"

2 Inspire You responded:

"Thank you so much Louise, I am blushing!! I know how hard it is to come in to somewhere new on your own and I am glad we were able to make you feel welcome. Yes you made a superb hare and your daughter seemed very happy with your lunchtime progress. I cannot apologise for hooking you but I hope that we will see you again in the new year and take you further along on your journey. Have a fabulous Christmas and New Year"

JANE MITCHELL reviewed: Needle felted puffin

"A great way to spend a day! This was my first attempt at needle felting and I was able to produce a nice 2d picture that I will be proud to hang on my wall. I was instantly made to feel welcome and the level of instruction was perfect."

2 Inspire You responded:

"Your picture was amazing and a great interpretation of your piece of at you had with you. I am so glad that after the chaos of all the traffic and road works that were going on that you were able to relax and enjoy yourself. You were very keen to explore the colours and experiment which was a great way to create your finished result. I am pleased we made you feel very welcome and we look forward to seeing you again soon."

After introductions we adjourned to the workshop where we were treated to an interactive masterclass on woodturning.Graham is a natural and very patient teacher whos enthusiasm is obvious, allowing us to try, master and apply techniques as demonstrated, but always there to adjust and gently correct as needed for best ( and safest ) results. Thoroughly recommended."

Julia Greenwood reviewed: Stained glass weekly classes in Sheffield (South Yorkshire)

"I came across Martin’s workshop whilst visiting an open day at the Hamlet. I had never thought of doing stained glasswork before but immediately thought of a window for which we needed a stained glass panel and decided to make my own. I was inspired by the work which students were undertaking, the workshop and the atmosphere. Having completed 3 terms the window is now done and even my husband was impressed! Martin is very encouraging and inspires confidence in moments of doubt. There doesn’t seem to be any problem he doesn’t have a solution for and will ensure every piece is a success. I am in awe of the work students undertake under Martin’s guidance and have now signed up for a 4th term."

Chas Billing reviewed: Learn to Turn in the Dartmoor National Park

"An excellent day! Chris has obviously fine-tuned this course to give a satisfying experience. Making a bowl (starting from no experience of woodturning at all) filled a day perfectly, and the pace felt just right, not rushed, but no hanging around. Lots of great instruction and I was impressed with Chris' attitude - Where I would have been content to stop at "OK" Chris took me the extra step to get things just right - a real craftsman. Highly recommended!"

Thanks Jane for lovely time, great cakes, lunch and wine."

Lisa reviewed: Casting in pewter - making jewellery, decorations & keyrings: a 'Quirky Workshop' at Greystoke Craft Garden & Barns near Penrith and Ullswater

"Ella is a fantastic teacher. She knows how to set you at your ease, tells you just enough without overwhelming you in details, and then proceeds to check in with everyone individually to make sure you're ok. She makes the whole pewter process seem so easy and highly rewarding. I wouldn't hesitate to book with her again. Quirky Workshops is a great location, too. Annie ensures everyone feels welcome with a generous supply of coffee, tea, home made cordials, and of course biscuits and cake! Such is always the best and Annie is a great host. We've been to a few workshops at Quirky now, and are never disappointed."

Zara reviewed: Kate Morrell willow sculpture courses

"The willow weaving course was a gift for my birthday and what a great gift it turned out to be. The course is held at Kate's home, the perfect setting to get creative sat by the warmth of the log burner and taking in the views of the garden. In preparation for us arriving Kate had gathered examples of animal sculptures she had done so we had visuals to reference to throughout the day. Kate is very knowledgable, patient and was great at getting round to each of us individually to support and advise. Kate's husband was busy preparing a fresh homecooked lunch for us which was greatly received after a morning of crafting. I am surprised with myself at what I achieved, I made a boxing hare for our soon to be arriving babies nursery and I am so proud of it. With regards value for money Kate's course is a steal..... especially based on the size of the hare I came home with and the price you see willow sculptures at local garden centres. Thank you again.... I would consider booking again even if just to make a different animal... but feel confident enough to maybe have a little go at home!"
