Nikki dirnberger reviewed: Adult pottery classes (hand building) at Terra Mia UK

"I pre-warned Alba before our workshop that I was coming with my ADHD 13yr old . I was seeing the day as a bonding experience between me and her . I can honestly say it was the best Sunday for years . Alba was a captivating teacher she held our attention all the way through . Both of us loved her teaching style and have learnt so much . But best of all we finished the day with beautiful pieces that we created and a whole set of new skills . I’m so happy and will definitely come again both with my daughter and probably without . Who knew I might be a secret potter at heart !!!"

Jo Holdaway reviewed: Contemporary stool making weekend course

"Could not recommend this weekend of learning, listening, doing, laughing and eating! Still amazed I started with a slab of rough wood and 48 hours later had managed to produce something unique, beautiful and functional that will be treasured forever. Ambrose and Aiden are super teachers and crafters and I will probably find bits of wood shavings in my boots and socks for many months to come...just brilliant! Thanks guys!"

Sheila Atherton reviewed: Mosaic and Glass Art 2 day Course

"What a treat! A weekend spent with good friends in the bright vibrant world of Maggie's workshop and enthusiasm for her craft. She managed to inspire, instruct, relax, entertain AND keep 5 of us on task over 2 days so that we each walked away with a completed project and the idea that this is a craft we would like to have another go at. Well done Maggie. We won't look at china and glass in quite the same way again!"

Elaine Ford reviewed: Art + Wine evenings

"If you have never picked up a paintbrush since leaving school, or if you are and absolute beginner, I can thoroughly recommend the Art and Wine evening. At the end you will be astonished and delighted with your work - go on, try it! Under the expert guidance of Suzanne and Lynn's generous hospitality, the evening provides time to step aside from the hurly burly of life and create something beautiful."

The Arienas Collective responded:

"Thanks for the lovely review Elaine. The Scottish Colourist-themed paint and wine evenings with Suzanne are perfect for those who haven't painted for a while...or ever! We hope the friend you brought along for a birthday treat enjoyed her evening too. And we're sure the other lucky friend who is getting your finished work will be absolutely delighted with it. Well done. It's amazing what you can create in 3 hours, while enjoying a glass of wine and nibbles with friends! We hope to welcome you back to The Arienas Collective again soon. With best wishes, Lynn :-)"

Eleanor reviewed: Pottery Throwing (Group Discounts Available) Lessons in Worcester

"I booked an introductory taster course with Chris, and had an absolutely fantastic time! I wasn't very confident initially, but Chris provided great tuition and support. He patiently guided me to produce several bowls/pots - and didn't mind at all when I required a few attempts to get it right! I was really pleased with my finished products - which we coloured with slip - and can't wait to see them once the firing process is complete. I would highly recommend this course to anyone - Chris has amazing skill at both pottery and tuition; you will have an amazing time!"

"I had an fantastic time on this course; Sarah showed me several techniques and finished products as inspiration then let me get creating using the wide variety of materials she had. I managed to finish a few pieces, which Sarah helped me to perfect, and I can't wait to see how they look after being fired in the kiln! I would highly recommend this course to anyone - either complete beginner or early learner. You will love it!"

Peter Bradley reviewed: Stonecarving Weekend, Gloucestershire Cotswolds

"I really enjoyed my weekend course in stone carving, which my wife bought for my birthday present. Set in the stunning Cotswolds, the views of the surrounding hills and woods from Sebastian's field were amazing. Sebastian gave helpful and friendly advice as necessary, and made himself available when I needed to know what to do or which tools to use. I found the sculpting physically demanding, not being used to standing all day, or using my arms and hands for chipping, chiselling and filing. However, I had a wonderful time, and came away with a sculpture that I'm pleased and amazed with, and which made my friends say 'wow!' I hope to be back after my next birthday!"

Simon Rouse reviewed: Beginners Pottery Day Course

"From the moment we knocked on Mathew's front door we found a warm welcome and a great communicator. Mathew went out of his way to establish a friendly informal tone, quickly understanding our expectation of the day. As a couple we started the day with a litle trepidation; I hadnt touched a potters wheel for more than 30 years, and my wife had no previous experience at all. Mathew skillfully coached us both simultaneously, spotting our mistakes and showing us how to correct them as we went. Our confidence grew rapidly as our pots took shape in front of us. We achieved far more than we expected, with 6 pots each now waiting to be fired and glazed (all included) The whole experience was loads of fun and we're keen to return very soon to learn more. Thanks so much Mathew !"

Trudi de la Mare reviewed: Community Group Felting course

"The needlefelting workshop I attended tutored by Rachel was well run and fun. Rachel explained each step clearly and made the procedures clear and easy to follow. It was one of the most enjoyable workshops I have attended and Rachel's time management was excellent. She planned the day so that we were happily employed throughout the day and all completed our chosen animals. It was a very good experience , one which I would like to repeat"

"I absolutely loved this course; I learnt so much and was over the moon with my results. Miranda is an expert in the industry and an excellent teacher who guides and encourages you every step of the way. The venue is light and spacious and is organised by Sally who is most welcoming and helpful. I didn’t realise there was a course like this so close to home, I will certainly be attending more ? I highly recommend this course to beginners and more experienced sculptors."

Jacqueline Inwood reviewed: Weekend upholstery courses - Oxfordshire & Berkshire Borders

"Fabulous 2 days. Phillip is very skilled and an excellent teacher. I took 4 dining chairs and finished 3. I got better with each one. Really good to see other projects and to learn from them. Two students were returning with a more ambitious piece as they clearly rate Phillip highly. I think i can carry on with simple chairs for now but can see me going for another course in the future. I filmed some of his techniques on my phone and have been able to look back. Just great."

Louise Haigh reviewed: Hedgerow basketmaking holiday

"I am happy to leave Jane and this wonderful course a glowing review. We were incredibly well- taught and well-looked after throughout our three days together. Jane is inspiring in her love for her craft and her wonderful skills. She passes on her knowledge in a quietly authoritative way which gives an inexperienced beginner, such as myself, great confidence and pleasure in what we were doing. I was amazed at the fantastic quality, artistry and aesthetic charm of the baskets we were all able to produce by the end of this course. I am afraid I am gushing - but I feel the course more than deserved it!!"

"Just come back from a very informative and enjoyable day, with Christopher my son, on a day course with Chris Smith learning some of the basic arts of blacksmithing. Chris was very patient with us, explaining the reasons for working in a certain way. The day culminated in us both taking away a piece of work that was recognisable by our wives. All in all an enjoyable day."
