Rachael Allen reviewed: One day Mosaic workshop Moon Hare Studio, Devon

"A really informative beginners class into mosaics. Adela goes into a brief history of the art and how it can be used creatively today. With many of her own examples to inspire you around her shop, you won’t be stuck for ideas when it comes to making your own designs. I could have easily spent the whole day there. Well worth it if you are curious about mosaics."

Aled Tackney reviewed: Spoon carving for beginners - morning

"I can't praise this course enough! Stephen is very knowledgeable and passionate about his craft and the course is very well run. We did a Saturday morning spoon making course which was great fun and a nice relaxing way to spend a weekend morning. The wood shop had everything that we could need and a welcoming atmosphere. By the end of the two hours everyone was enjoying themselves so much no one wanted to stop. So I'd say you definitely need more time to finish the spoon. However, you can always go back to the wood shop for a very reasonable rate if you wanted to finish it off. I'd definitely do it again. If your'e interested in this kind of thing and even a complete novice (like me) book it now, you won't regret it."

Elaine Lowe reviewed: Rustic garden reindeer making workshop

"My husband and daughters had a lovely time together making reindeer for their respective gardens. They all enjoyed the course and came back full of enthusiasm. They said the course leader and volunteers were very helpful and they were very pleased with their reindeers and would recommend the course to others. This made an ideal present for my husband as he got time to spend with his daughters doing a fun activity and they all have a 'reindeer' to remind them of the day."

Annmaree Smerdon reviewed: Stone carving for the Garden - Carve your own garden planter or bird bowl in Bath stone – a two day creative stone carving workshop with Zoe Singleton

"What a wonderful experience this weekend course was. The spacious studio allowed a comfortable working environment for beginner students and Zoe, a very thorough and helpful teacher, guided us to our hugely satisfying outcome. A lovely stone planter each. We were made very welcome with teas and coffee and a delicious, home cooked lunch had in friendly company each day. Hard work and a few aches have definitely not deterred my itch to keep going. I too, am researching tools and would love the opportunity to continue learning and practising stone carving. Thank you so much Zoe."

Martyn Smith reviewed: Introduction to green wood craft - a two day course

"I was on the early November course with Steve and agree with every word he wrote. An excellent introduction to the subject, real value for money and never a dull moment. It always came as a surprise when we had to finish for the day. Many thanks to Dave and the team, I've just got myself a Kent pattern axe like the one we used on day one. Great fun and you learn a lot. Cheers."

Penny Sychrava reviewed: Felt Pictures-Painting with fibres - intro to 2D wet felting/felt making

"I came back a second time because I enjoyed this course so much. My second piece I chose to do in 2D and now have something I’m going to frame. Heather is really good at inspring you and understanding what it is you want to create and helping you get there. The atmosphere was again really relaxing and fun and in a lovely house. I now have a more in depth understanding of the process and am really proud of the progress I’ve made."

Liz Pearce reviewed: Mosaic applique with the Cheshire School of Glass

"I did a 2 day mosaic course yesterday at the Cheshire School of Glass. I made a huge mosaic, having never worked with glass before. I learnt to cut glass in to any shape , grind glass , bond and grout all to a pattern I designed! I didn't even get my Art O'Level, but Jenny gives you the confidence to believe in yourself and achieve wonderful results."

Robyn Strakham reviewed: 1-to-1 tailored course with one of the UK's leading glass artists Jennifer Barker, at the Cheshire School of Glass

"Jenny has taught me how to effectively set up my glass workshop. I learnt which kiln to get, what tools and materials I need, how to programme a kiln and which glasses to you - and the pros and cons of different glasses. I cannot recommend Jenny enough as a teacher. She is so generous with her knowledge and workshop. She genuinely wants you to learn as much as possible and correctly to set up successfully . I loved this course."

Heather reviewed: Pottery / ceramics wheel throwing, full day

"I attended a beginners pottery course which I received as a fantastic gift. I had an amazing day, it was very relaxing and I found Lorraine to be welcoming, fun and an excellent teacher! I suprised myself by producing 6 pieces of pottery that are fully dishwasher and microwave proof and in my opinion give Denby a run for their money ?! I collected them after Lorraine performed an amazing glazing job on them ( hence the Denby quality..). Lorraines mother was as welcoming as Lorraine and supplied us with homemade delicious cakes to go with our cups of tea. Highly recommend this setting and I will definitely be returning."

Matthew Hope reviewed: One day salt or pepper mill woodturning course one to one.

"I attended this one day course in the Summer and thoroughly enjoyed it. I'd never done any wood turning before, and don't count myself as a practical person, but I found it to be a great intro and I managed to take a great looking pepper mill home with me at the end of the day Bill is very accommodating and a fantastic teacher. He'll work with you individually to ensure you are happy and confident with what you're doing at all times. I would recommend this course to anyone that would like to give wood turning a go."
