andy macateer reviewed: An introduction to wood turning with Gregory Moreton (2 Days)

"Greg is a legend!! I've never seen someone so passionate and into their scene as him. My son and I spent yesterday with him in his Surrey workshop and came out with a decent basic knowledge of lathe working and above all, safety AND a fantastic bowl, we each made! If you're thinking of getting into this or looking to improve your knowledge and skills to much higher levels, then Greg is your man. Great guy, fun day! We'll be back. Thank you!!"

Katherine Sirrell reviewed: Glass blowing for beginners with Jon Lewis

"This was a fantastic day and great choice of present for my partner. Jon was an excellent teacher; patient, clear and put us at ease. I was a bit nervous before going but Jon explained the process in a way which made us feel confident in what we were doing. We got to do so much ourselves and it was really amazing to make the products we did. The mill was also a beautiful location a d super easy from London. If you're thinking about glass blowing this really is the best course and such fantastic value."

"For our works Christmas outing this year we all spent a really lovely day at this beautiful mosaic workshop. Jackie is a very talented and creative teacher providing a supportive and fun filled experience. Her workshop is filled with a huge stock of beautiful mosaic tiles alongside various pieces of her amazing work. As well as helping us with ideas and assisting in the construction of our mosaics, Jackie was also the perfect host providing plenty of coffee accompanied by her delicious homemade cake. Maureen Wiesner reviewed: Christmas Pudding - needle felting workshop with The Lady Moth

"I attended the needle felted robin and wreath workshop with my grown up daughter. The Polish Club venue was lovely (soothing Christmas music and a delicious cold buffet lunch). Zenia explained everything patiently and thoroughly and we all ended up with beautiful robins and even had time to decorate the wreaths with some foliage and berries. It was a whole day workshop but the time passed so quickly and it was so relaxing and we were actually thrilled with the finished articles. I have attended one of Zenia's workshops before (made a bunny). She is very artistic, is a natural teacher and she gives excellent tips on making the finished article as beautiful as possible."

Silversmith course reviewed: 1 day introduction to silver jewellery making

"Just to say a big thanks for a great day that caters for a compete novice like me through to folks with more experience. During the day we were give so much useful information ranging from buying tools, basic design for work stations, to technique use in making jewellery all backed up with practice and handouts. All along the way Jonathan give plenty of encouragement and constructive criticism and ideas how to achieve your design. Over the day I made a chunky silver ring with textured surface not perfect, but has given me the confidence to try out a few more pieces of jewellery The other treat was lunch made by Jonathan partner along with tea coffee home biscuits plus freshly made mince tarts. Again many thanks wil be booking more courses in new year"

Mandy reviewed: Christmas Pudding - needle felting workshop with The Lady Moth

"I attended the wreath robin workshop. We travelled from stoke on trent to do the workshop, staying in Sandy Beds the night before. Took us about 40 mins to get there. The first full day workshop that Zena had put on. Course included lunch which was really nice. It was a good venue for the workshop. Everything required for the course, excellent tuition and everybody came away with a completed project. A lot of patience displayed during the workshop as some people were not confident at all. If I lived closer I would definitely attend further workshops. I love the pieces displayed and would encourage more kits or instructions to purchase. Thankyou for an excellent workshop."

"Jonathan and Helen are so generous and caring that it sets this experience apart from others I have experienced. Great teaching and loads of extra info from Jonathan who imparts his knowledge in a gentle and positive way which makes you feel capable of achieving during the day. His wife Helen adds a hugely welcoming edge to the day with her delicious home cooked treats and lively conversation over lunch. This course was a gift from my children and I have thanked them since for finding me the best gift I’ve ever received ! Thank you to you both. Looking forward to learning more with you in the coming months."

Rosie Greenwood reviewed: Upholstery weekly classes

"I’m amazed at what Karen coaxed out of me - I did a very complicated antique family heirloom as my first project and it turned out fantastically well! She’s a great teacher and it’s just such a joy being in her studio. I’m hooked now, and keep eying things in my home wondering if they ‘need’ upholstering! Great coffee too."

Charlotte Edwards reviewed: Christmas festive foodie workshop

"From the moment I first enquires about the course Yolanda was very attentive and helpful, and the moment we arrived all expectations were exceeded, Yolanda and John were so welcoming and friendly and really added to the day. We arrived the night before and stayed in the cabin which was lovely so many extra touches such as having tea coffee mike bread not to mention the face masks and chocolates on the beds. A wonderful course we could not believe the amount covered in the day and went home with a filled hamper of Christmas foodie treats all which we were able to decorate and package. Such a relaxing atmosphere and the studio space was perfect. Two very talented people who were love what they do. Johns lunch was something else and the offering of drinks throughout the day was great. I will definitely be returning to future courses and make a weekend of it. Many thanks for a great day."

Christine Foster reviewed: Wood turning courses

"What a great way to spend a wet wintry day! We were welcomed into George and Susan's home with tea and biscuits, very welcome after our (not too long) drive from Bristol, and soon after introduced to the workshop. Neither of us had any experience working with a lathe before, but, after the safety briefing, George quickly got us started, giving enough information and guidance to move from block of wood to finished bowl in a single day without overwhelming us with too much information in one go. We thoroughly enjoyed our day, and would highly recommend the course. Thank you George for a memorable day."
