Liz DE CHASTELAIN reviewed: 2 Day forged chef's knife course.

"This course was fantastic. Having completed my one day taster the previous week and enjoying creating a small utility blade, I wanted to try this more ambitious 2 day course and make my own chef's knife. I showed my design to Steve and we set to work. Under his expert eye and having total confidence in everything he said, I hot forged and shaped the blade, then we heat treated and tempered the blade and ground the bevels. day 2 was spent finishing the blade and making and fitting the handle. It was hard work and full on but the passion and enthusiasm that comes from Steve just made it so enjoyable. I was totally blown away by the beautiful knife I made. Thank you SO MUCH Steve!"

Nic & Karina reviewed: One day bangle/ring workshop

"What an amazing day. I have always loved Jolene’s jewellery but when my husband bought me a bangle making workshop for Xmas I couldn’t wait to get started. My friend joined me too as she was also an admirer of Jolene’s beautiful jewellery. This was the perfect workshop for beginners. Jolene was a fabulous tutor and hostess and made us feel extremely relaxed. She did a fabulous demonstration and encouraged and supported us throughout our experience. As a result we all designed and made 3 beautiful pieces of individualised jewellery. We would highly recommend this workshop to anyone. It was a wonderfully relaxed experience in a fabulous setting."

Genna reviewed: Christmas Pudding - needle felting workshop with The Lady Moth

"I visited The Lady Moth yesterday for a one to one session learning now to make a needle Felted bluetit. Having done only a tiny bit of this before I was pretty much a beginner but I absolutely loved it!! Zenia took time to show me each step properly, building up the little bird a bit at a time. She was friendly and welcoming and made me feel completely at ease. I’ve definitley caught the felting bug and will certainly be back for more! And I love my new little addition to the house :) Thoroughly recommended!"

Maggie reviewed: Stonecarving Weekend, Gloucestershire Cotswolds

"What a brilliant weekend we had. Sebastian is the most gentle and most supportive teacher I have worked with in a long time. From arriving knowing nothing about stone carving I left with a sculpture I’m very proud of. Sebastian started by hearing what all our hopes of the weekend were, then introduced us to his approach and the tools. We began with a practice piece of stone which really helped me get over my nervousness of working with the stone and getting it wrong! At our own pace we then chose a piece of stone from lots of different shapes and sizes on offer. And the weekend then flew, we were so absorbed in the stone and in our work and Sebastian was always there with un-intrusive support. We all created such different pieces and they were all wonderful. The whole atmosphere and location couldn’t be better. I highly recommend you book this course with Sebastian as soon as you can."

Marrianne Macdonald reviewed: Bespoke candle making workshop - Edinburgh

"I attended a candle making course at Can Candle owned by Kerrylyn Bell after receiving the voucher from my daughter. I had the most amazing morning in Kerrylyn’s kitchen set up with a huge variety of fragrances and everything needed to make my bespoke candle. The ambiance was fabulous. Kerrylyn has the art of being able to pass on her knowledge in a way that make it fun but I must say I learned so much too. The quality of the products is 1st class and I will be giving vouchers to everyone I now to enjoy the time making their own bespoke candle. I thoroughly enjoyed the homemade crumble too x thank you Kerrylyn for one of the most fabulous Saturday mornings I’ve spent in a long time x Marrianne"

Nikki reviewed: One day silver jewellery designing and making workshop

"My sister and I thoroughly enjoyed our day with Bridget. She covered many more skills than I was expecting and encouraged us to explore our ideas from a technical point of view and creatively. We both finished the day with a piece we were really happy with. Bridget is super patient. You can work at your own speed. She has created a very peaceful studio environment to work in. It was a very relaxing day at the same time as learning a lot. I would highly recommend this to anyone who simply wants to explore a new skill or develop the skills you have already."

Char reviewed: Inspired by Nature II

"I've been on one of D's pewter cast jewellery courses, and she is a fabulously creative and innovative teacher. Really good to find the workshop again, on this multi crafts-and-creativity weekend at Braziers Park. I've also participated in J's collaborative poetry sessions, which are enlightening and inspiring - even if you think you aren't a poet! Braziers is a wonderful place to spend time - always interesting, inspiring and quirky. I went to their Inspired by Nature Easter Creativity weekend about 10 years ago, which was really enjoyable, and we made lots of beautiful (and useful!) things. I'm looking forward to going again, to enjoy the crafts on offer this time around, and share the landscape, meals, and fun of another creativity weekend there."

Shirley reviewed: Learn to Felt - An Introduction to Felt Making in Birmingham

"Thoroughly enjoyable day. Emma is very knowledgeable and talented and she explained/demonstrated the techniques very well. The small class-size meant we had as much personal help and attention as needed and were able to work at our own pace. It was particularly good to be able make something of our own choosing as we all had very different styles. I came away with a scarf that I will definitely wear. I hope to return for further courses."

Kathryn Rowcliffe reviewed: One day silver jewellery designing and making workshop

"I had an excellent day with Bridget. Although I expected there was a lot more work that goes into a handmade project than initially meets the eye it was still a surprise how many different techniques can be used to create different items & finishes / appearances. This course is excellent value for money and Bridget is a lovely lady ready to assist in ensuring you get the most from it. There is no pre structure, everything is tailored around what you want to learn and the product you want to achieve. Thank you Bridget, I had a brilliant day & will return x"

Mitch Cox reviewed: Bladesmithing Weekend

"This weekend course was a sixtieth birthday present which is now firmly in my top 5. The whole weekend from start to finish was paced beautifully and was full of new skills to learn and perfect. Our host Graham had a wealth of engineering experience and was knowledgeable in the explanation and teaching of the skills to produce your final knife. The wood working of the Knife scales and the leather work for the sheath complemented completely the forging of the steel blade which all came together on the final day to produce a unique and personal completed knife to take away and treasure. Don't expect a neat and tidy workshop, this is a true engineering forge and workshop, with pleasant, knowledgeable and skilled people, an atmosphere matched to what you are trying to achieve, which all goes towards one of the best experiences you will ever have."

Janice Green reviewed: Knitting workshops in Leeds City Centre

"Had a two hour beginners crochet session with Ann this morning. I have tried to crochet before without much success but thanks to Ann’s patience, enthusiasm, knowledge and guidance I now feel able build on this new skill and with practice take on a project. Ann spotted my mistakes, gently put me right, explaining where and how I had gone wrong. I was also given information and patterns to bring home. It was two hours well spent in the company of a lovely lady. Highly recommend. Thank you Ann."

Leeds Central Faith and Light responded:

"Thank you Janice for your kind review - I'm glad you enjoyed your workshop. You picked up the principles of crochet quickly and were a pleasure to teach. I hope you continue to enjoy your new found skill. Kind regards Ann"
