Nick Oke reviewed: Wood turning courses

"Just had a fantastic day with George at Artistry In Wood. He has so much knowledge and experience that he passed on to me as a student. I couldn't believe the standard of the bowl I was able to turn under his tuition. I'd recommend him to anyone, young or old, experienced or novice. Nick.""

Paul St John Bennett reviewed: 2 Day Silver Jewellery Making Course - Ely

"What was amazing ( besides the legendary ginger biscuits ) ( and the lunches ) was how much we packed into these 2 days, not just in terms of practical work, but also the amount of knowledge Jonathan gave us. The three of us on the course not only came away with a ring we had each made ( and now wear very proudly ! ), but also something we had personally chosen and designed - a pendant, ring, and torq in our cases. This means you come away with the enormous satisfaction of making something you want, yourself, and having the knowledge ( and comprehensive notes ) on how to progress beyond that into silversmithing as a hobby or career. Jonathan not only has vast experience and skill, but also the empathy and ability to give his students the confidence to believe they could do really well in the future if they want to. As you can probably tell, I was impressed.....!"

Elena reviewed: 10- week Introduction to Soft Pastels online zoom art course with live tuition. Suitable for complete beginners and people with some experience in Art.

"Thank you Raya for a wonderful workshop! I love wool painting and you were an exceptional teacher. Though you guided us we were also able to be creative with our pictures. The atmosphere was relaxing, fun and creative. What a wonderful way to spend a rainy and miserable Saturday! Clearly you are very knowledgeable and an experienced teacher. I look forward for your next wool painting class. I have a photo of my a very special scenery and would love to recreate it in wool fibres. I can't wait for the next class. Thank you. I highly recommend Raya's classes for anyone. They are suitable for absolute beginners . Elena"

Leigh Wallace reviewed: Bespoke candle making workshop - Edinburgh

"I had a lovely morning spent with a bunch of lovely ladies (and one dragged along husband), learning lots about candles, making them, burning them and caring for them. Everything we needed was easily accessible on the table and all details had been thought of including our personalised stickers to put on our finished candles. Kerry was full of knowledge and was able to answer all our questions. The fresh coffee and homemade berry crumble was the icing on the cake. I would definitely recommend and return to Kerry's courses in the future."

Dawn White reviewed: Needle felting course with FURZIE at Trumpet Corner Tea Rooms, Ledbury, Herefordshire

"Brilliant course. Michelle was just so encouraging and dedicated to delivering her skills/knowledge to enable some fantatic results for students. One draw back was not starting on time which made a rush at the end but that was down to the owner of the venue not michelles fault. In my opinion any more than 6 people is too many. Im looking forward to returning in the near future. Good job michelle, everything was well provided by her to create a creature/animal. Fab course Dawn"

"I have loved doing mosaics in Anne Cardwell's workshops, learning new things in a friendly small group setting. Anne is onw of those outstanding teachers who can have a group of people all working on very different mosaic projects/pictures and can advise and guide each person in an empowering way. It did not take long to get completely hooked!"

Steve reviewed: Learn to carve wooden spoons, beginners and improvers

"This is an excellent course. Very informative, relaxed and enjoyable...and you get a spoon out of it at the end! It is testament to how much everyone was enjoying themselves when I noticed, on a couple of occasions, that there was complete silence as everyone was so engrossed with their carving and in a world of their own. I will definitely be keeping up spoon carving and would like to say a big thankyou to Dave for such a great day."

"I attended an afternoon course with Lindsay and really enjoyed having the chance to learn all about the process of making beaded jewellery. Lindsay’s explanations and demonstrations were really clear and I came away with a bracelet and earrings that I was really quite proud of. I have contacted Lindsay since completing the course with a query about sourcing clasps and she was happy to help. Highly recommended."

"I just have just completed the two day ‘stained glass’ course at Cheshire school of glass. What an amazing, thoroughly enjoyable experience. Steph the course tutor was simply awesome, she give us all the confidence to attempt and succeed at challenging stain glass projects. She has extensive knowledge, skill and expertise, but the patient way she demonstrates and helps you is her greatest asset. Definitely the very best training course I’ve ever attended..... Can’t wait to try some glass projects at home:-)"

Jean D reviewed: 5 Day Professional Furniture Refinishing Workshop - Traditional & Contemporary

"I was a total novice to re-finishing furniture (except for painting); I had many pieces that needed attention and I was too frightened to just 'have a go'. I decided it was time to acquire some skills...so booked up with Ollie for 5 days. For me, it was definitely worth it. I'd brought 6 pieces with me (including a pine breakfast bar and an Ercol chair) and we managed to work on four of them. I feel much more confident about oiling/waxing pieces; painting (including masking-up furniture for painting patterns) and even french polishing. Ollie is friendly, approachable and patient and has a nice, big, bright workshop to work in. Ollie provides plenty of information about products to use and since there were only a few in the class, I got lots of attention, which is what I think I needed to really embed what I was learning....and now I have 3 more Ercol chairs to strip and re-finish...."

Mary Pearson reviewed: French Polishing & Woodcare - 2 Day Beginners/Intermediate Workshop

"This was a fantastic course which I enjoyed enormously. I learned so much in just 2 days and was thrilled by the results I achieved on my pieces of furniture. Ollie was extremely helpful and informative and showed a great deal of patience! It was fascinating to learn not only the technique of French Polishing but also about the wood and construction of my pieces. Seeing furniture through Ollie’s eyes has brought me another level of respect for even our most utilitarian pieces. I now feel ready to tackle French polishing at home and with Ollie’s notes and advice package I feel confident I can achieve great results. I cannot recommend this course highly enough."

Catherine was knowledgable and patient and I learnt enough to continue felting at home."
