Sarah reviewed: 'Art of Stained Glass' - Oldbury, Birmingham

"My friend and I did a two person course for two days focused just on painting. Jamal is an excellent teacher and tailored the sessions to us, finding out what we were comfortable doing already and offering us just the information we needed in the limited time we had. We left the sessions understanding how to mix paint, which medium and pigments to choose, what equipment we needed, how to apply a matte as well as do delicate line paintings with tracing black paint. All the knowledge we hoped we would come away with to practice at home! Jamal is very welcoming and offered us images to work from as well as giving us tips to make the best of our own."

Martyn Bailey reviewed: Irresistible mosaic ornaments - for gardens year round

"As somebody with no previous experience I started Anne's classes a few months ago. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed as is Anne's teaching style. Mosaic making is so enjoyable and absorbing, the hours pass quickly, more classes booked for next month."

Making Mosaics responded:

"Martyn you take the prize for the neatest ever student - I have never been able to make as precise cuts as you do - so we are all still learning!"

Mary Lloyd reviewed: Needle felt your dog with Crafty Gal

"Fabulous day with Denise needle felting dogs. Excellent patient tution, with lots of encouragement and guidance. All on our course had very limited knowledge of the craft and we all came away with fantastic results. Who could have believed that three bits of florist wire and a handful of wool could be made into a image of your dog. The workshop was a joy and the homemade treats delicious. Many thanks Denise."

Crafty Gal responded:

"Thank you Mary for the feedback, it was such fun to spend the day with three sisters! And your dogs were so good, I hope you keep the needle felting up! Here if you need any advice. Dx"

Caroline Mitchell reviewed: Beginners introductory pyrography course in Lincolnshire

"A great course and excellent value for money. Susan clearly knows what she is taking about and gave plenty of time to complete the exercises without rushing. My confidence has had a huge boost as a result of spending the day with her. She mentions she also runs other courses but at no time did I feel any pressure to complete further training (this has not always been the case on some courses). I will without a doubt attend another course with her as Susan's passion for Pyrography clearly shines through."

Jo Davies reviewed: Potter's wheel pottery - half day course Siramik

"Me and my mother in law attended the half day course with Yoka at Siramik and had the BEST time. We were both complete beginners but we somehow managed to make some pretty decent pots thanks to Yoka's amazing teaching skills. Yoka is so friendly and knowledgable and really made us feel at ease. Within 30 mins or so, we were throwing our own pots and they just got better and better throughout the afternoon. Would highly recommend this course to anyone who fancies a go at pottery, you will not be disappointed. Thanks so much Yoka."

Suzanne EASTMAN reviewed: Handmade cards in Hampshire

"I found this course advertised on here, and so glad I did. I gave June a call, and she sounded lovely. Went to her workshop on 18th January 2019 with a friend. We both enjoyed ourselves and June is such a friendly, experienced tutor, with so much patience that we gained and learned so much more. We are not novices at crafts, and I have done quite a bit of cardmaking. On the other hand my friend hasn't done any cardmaking. But she found the course to be so enjoyable that we both can't wait to go again. Thank you June xx If you are thinking of going you won't be disappointed !"

Cardinal Cards responded:

"Oh wow thanks for your review Suzanne. It was a pleasure to meet you and Maria and I'm so glad you enjoyed it and learnt new things. Also very happy that you are coming back soon! Look forward to seeing you then x"

Liz Evenden reviewed: Table Loom Weaving Workshop - Dobby & Rose

"This course was a relaxed and fun way to spend a morning. The cosy studio was full of bright and varied yarns to choose from, Rebecca had done the hard work in setting up the looms for us, so all we had to do was learn the basics and enjoy playing with colour and pattern. We left with a piece of woven wool each, which we had made and that we can make into something to remind us of the day. I had no idea I would find weaving so fascinating and relaxing! Great experience, and the biscuits were very nice :-)"

Sally reviewed: Needle felt your dog with Crafty Gal

"What a lovely way to spend a day! Inspiring surroundings, great, relaxed teaching by Denise who assured us that the piece of florist wire we started with, would, at the end of the day, be transformed into our beautiful pet dogs. With her unobtrusive guidance our workshop of newbie felters were all delighted with the results. Would highly recommend. Thank you Denise."

Crafty Gal responded:

"Thank you so much for the fantastic feedback Sally, I'm so pleased you enjoyed your day and were thrilled with your miniature Daisy! Dx"

janey Edwards reviewed: Irresistible mosaic ornaments - for gardens year round

"I love Making Mosaics classes on fridays. Whilst fairly new to the class I felt welcome and soon got inspired by seeing what the other students were working on. Anne is extremely patient and kind and as well as giving good advice and helping you when you are stuck or unsure, she also makes a wonderful cuppa keeping our creativity going and has a great sense of humour. She makes you feel welcome and at home. The other students are fun and very friendly and the time whizzes by far too quickly! Driving home after the class I always feel stimulated after working intensely with colour and shape with the incredible variety of mosaic materials Anne offers on her courses. Working with mosaics seems to help make me view the colours and textures of the landscape in a different way and I cannot wait for the next week's class!"

Making Mosaics responded:

"Thanks Janey - nice review - appreciated."

"I thoroughly enjoyed my soap making course. The workshop was very informative and practical in a friendly relaxed environment. Julie was very encouraging and supportive whilst making our own soaps, which we all took home at the end of the day. We had a lovely afternoon tea where we had time to chat whilst enjoying the sandwiches and cakes. Would definitely recommend it. A big thank you to Julie and Janet."

"My friend and I had a great afternoon at Lynn’s beginners crochet session last Saturday. Lynn is very welcoming and has the patience of a saint, especially as I kept dropping stitches! Much to my surprise, by the end of the session I had learned how to crochet my very first granny square! I would definitely recommend this course and would like to thank Lynn for her patience and expertise and Lynn’s husband for keeping us supplied with tea and cake ?"

"Mark’s in depth knowledge of wood turning together with his enthusiasm for the craft, makes for a unique and unrivalled experience. He is an extremely efficient communicator and is very keen to impart his knowledge. The structure of his course allows for flexibility of content and his backup and support post training is comprehensive. Following the training day I am determined to set up and progress in wood turning."

Jo ricketts reviewed: One day Fused Glass Workshops

"I went to Purple Glass Studio for a one day fused glass course three years ago, and was so enthused that I have been going weekly (in term time) ever since! Bonnie is so knowledgeable and keen to develop your skills. She enables you to learn, make mistakes and move on, all in a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. I am particularly impressed with the way that Bonnie enables absolute beginners to produce fused glass pieces that they can be proud of, at lest 3 or 4 of them in a day - participants always leave with a smile on their faces, and many like me return again. I would recommend the Purple Glass Studio to anyone who wants to learn the basics, or to develop their skills, not only in fused glass but in stained glass too. You will have a fantastic day or two, and leave with something to be very proud of!"

The Purple Stained Glass Studio responded:

"Thank you so much Jo, We love having you and seeing as you now have your own studio and kiln, are hugely grateful you still come to class. And I adore the trees you have just brought in! Bonnie"

Lorraine Barnard reviewed: Weave a Scarf Workshop in Liverpool

"I really enjoyed the day and being a new weaver was very pleased with how much we all achieved. Cathy was very knowledgeable and helpful, and her yarns are just gorgeous to work with. Everything was setup ready for us, fantastic choice of colours to use, and we even used some silks one of the attendees brought with her. The Williamson Art Gallery in Birkenhead was a perfect venue, fabulous cafe, lovely people and lots of space, easy parking, everything we needed. I'm definitely interested in continuing to weave and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this course."

Lazykate Textiles responded:

"Thank you for taking the time to leave a review Lorraine and such a lovely one at that. I really appreciate it. Cathy"
