Steve, amateur photographer reviewed: Mount cutting and effective presentation for painters and photographers

"Excellent practical day learning techniques for mounting my photographs and putting it into practice with the support of Lynne and with a small group of other participants. I was very pleased with the four mounted photographs I completed and am well prepared to do more back home. Great day out to learn a useful and creative skill and meet others in a friendly workshop. As an amateur photographer just starting to mount photos for club competitions this session was first class. I travelled 50 miles to the event and it was worth the time. Highly recommended."

Mrs Miller reviewed: Needle Felting Workshop Owl Brooch

"This was a great workshop everyone was so friendly, lovely cake, copious amounts of tea & coffee. Lots of embellishments to choose from, plus really encouraging advice from Milly. My family were so impressed when I got home they want me to make more, which I think I'll be able to do now all because of the help & tips I picked up from this workshop. Thank You Milly I will be coming back to learn other crafts with you."

susan hames reviewed: Rag Rugs and Wallhangings - traditional hand hooking and prodding and related techniques

"I wanted to explore all the possibilities for making textile wall hangings. Like those I've encountered at various exhibitions. Lynne's course did not disappoint. She expertly showed us how to use a wide variety of materials, including supermarket carrier bags and bath spongees in the making of some fabulous pieces of artwork. I wanted to learn the basic techniques, but came away with so much more. I can't wait to finish my first project and I'm looking forward to returning later in the year for a more advanced course with Lynne."

Clive hooper reviewed: Wood turning courses

"Many thanks to George and Sue for a very enjoyable day in Burnham introducing me to woodturning. Whilst clearly I have a long way to go George's thorough introduction to the nature of wood, the equipment and techniques combined with patience and an obvious enthusiasm for the craft enabled me to come away with a bowl I was pleased with and my wife even said she wouldn't mind having on the sideboard!"

Paul Balcon reviewed: Five day woodwork course - tools

"I attended the February 2019 course, I was one of four students of varying ability tutored by 2 extremely competent and enthusiastic instructors. The hours flew by, I loved it!. Each day included an hours lecture and I learned that what I thought I knew was wrong even some of the basics, (although it seemed obvious after I'd been told). There were also subjects which introduced us to new skills and areas of knowledge. I was also really pleased with my resulting project and left enthusiastic about putting what I'd learned into practise. I really recommend this course, the venue is great and the banter between the tutors and the students throughout the course was entertaining and friendly."

Can't thank you enough Louise. We will be back!"

Cecilia reviewed: Spoon carving for beginners - morning

"The calmest and most focussed morning I’ve spent in a long time. Hugely satisfying to split the branches, wield an axe and create a fully working spoon in just a few hours. Many thanks to Stephen for his patience and making the wood appear as soft as butter."

Sarah Ainsworth reviewed: Table Loom Weaving Workshop - Dobby & Rose

"This course is a wonderful introduction to weaving which I would highly recommend. Rebecca had set up the loom ready for us and so once she had taught us the basics we were ready to go and give it a try. By the end ( which came all too soon!) we had a sample which demonstrated the various weave structures we had chosen to do. Thank you Rebecca!"

Lynne reviewed: Metalwork Craft weekend with The Iron Lady - Bradwell Blacksmiths

"I did the two day course last weekend and where do I start with the praise! First off Natalie is so warm and welcoming you soon lose any nerves. Her obvious passion and enthusiasm for metal shines through from the get go and its very contagious! As a total novice I was wondering how I'd get on with some parts but thanks to Natalie and her wonderful apprentice I had no problems with all the different machines. Different types of welding, plasma cutting, grinding and the fantastic forge work were just parts of it. In no time I was rolling metal, cutting and bending all sorts and I was lucky enough to make something I loved all under Natalies expert guidance. A genuinely brilliant weekend that I would love to do again and highly recommend!!"

Cecilia reviewed: Spoon carving for beginners - morning

"Amazing workshop, hugely recommend! Such a lovely morning spent being introduced to carving in such a warm and creative environment. Stephen is so calm and kind, and really explains everything very well. He makes you feel involved in the whole process - from choosing the wood, to sawing it into bits, and then going on to carve our own spoons. For a two and a half hour course, it's amazing how Stephen was able to show us everything, and how we were able to work through the process from start to finish. Great quality tools and Stephen offers really helpful tips and advice throughout - his passion really shines through and is contagious. Really great!! Thanks so much!"

"A beginner and totally new to pyrography I found this course well paced, informative but strangely (considering how much we achieved) relaxing!! Along with clear instructions Susan passed on many tips/pointers and allowed us to move at our own pace through use of equipment, materials, etc. We accomplished a lot over a very enjoyable day."
