CathB reviewed: An introduction to wood turning with Gregory Moreton (2 Days)

"I've just completed an excellent 2 day beginners course with Greg, and could not recommend it highly enough. He is not only obviously a brilliant and talented turner, but has the ability to teach too. The pace was just right and enabled two of us to make three pieces within the two days, learning the basics of equipment, tools and cuts. I feel very fortunate to have found Greg's course and it was a very enjoyable two days with a bonus delicious lunch each day, thank you!"

Martyn Williams reviewed: Felted art or 3d bear or hare with 2 Inspire You

"Dear Rachel and Rhian. Thank you both for another fab workshop. I booked the workshop with my mum and partner to create our little fury friends. A cairn terrier, a pug and a staffy. The practical skills you both shared to help us make our dogs were fabulous. The day was full of creativity, patience and plenty of laughs. Really lovely group in a great venue. Can’t quite believe how the dogs evolved from a fluffy mass of wool in the morning to realistic pooches in the afternoon. I’m still amazed at the thought you put into matching the wool and colours prior to the workshop to match our dogs, brilliant! And thank you x Can’t wait for the next class xx"

2 Inspire You responded:

Kevin Hodge reviewed: Wood turning courses in the Midlands

"Hi, like a lot of other attendees, i was ( still am ) a novice, but with a desire to learn more, Mark is SO good at determining your level, passing on tips, tricks advice with good conversation thrown in for free! he has inspired me to buy a Lathe and get more guidance and instructions, he is so laid back and effortlessly guided me through the steps, and tools and of course safety. the step by step approach and leaving you to work the tools and lathe, but with an observant and encouraging eye on you all the time, so you do not feel like you are being watched. so Many tips and advice, i really recommend course for any newbie, that as the desire to " have a go" Mark has over 30 years of turning experience to share with all who are willing to listen and learn Kevin"

Phil Roalfe reviewed: Axe or bladesmithing weekend workshop – 2 days making your choice of a seax, bushcraft, bowie or chef knife

"This workshop was a pleasure from start to finish - even the wind and rain didn't dampen my enjoyment. Matt was knowledgeable and a great teacher, offering encouragement and advice in equal measure, and Ali a wonderful host. Came away with a Bowie knife that surpassed my expectations, given it was my first attempt at forging, can't wait to go camping and try it out! Anyone considering this course will not be disappointed - thanks Matt and Ali for a great couple of days!"

Judith Roberts reviewed: The Whole Table Loom Set Up - Dobby & Rose

"This is another fantastic course offered by Rebecca. Rebecca took us through the whole process of setting up a loom. I was fortunate enough to have my own loom and warping mill and to be able to do the entire process in practise was just amazing. Having done the Beginner's course previously I was under no illusion that process of setting up your own loom was the difficult part, but Rebecca made it very easy - everything was explained in detail and with great patience. I am absolutely hooked and can't wait to finish the scarf that I will have done on my own (with Rebecca's help, of course) and then move onto my next project. Whilst it is still a little daunting with the accompanying detailed course notes, I am confident that I can. Thank you Rebecca, you have inspired me to take up a new hobby which I am absolutely passionate about. I can't recommend Rebecca highly enough!"

Lucy Harland reviewed: One-to-One Jewellery making course including wire work (beginners)

"Jolene is amazing! Her quirky, inspiration-filled studio is the perfect environment to spend the day making. The intention for the day was to make my wedding ring because I couldn’t find anywhere that would sell one as narrow as I liked when paired with my engagement ring. I managed to make the perfect ring, a pair of earrings for the big day out of the spare white gold and also some surprise gifts for my 5 bridesmaids! The day felt so relaxed and fun and, with the help of Jolene, pretty straightforward. She made all demonstrations clear, and then allowed me to create a mock-up of what I intended to create so the pressure was off a little when it came to the real thing! When my friends heard about me having made my own ring they all loved the idea and agreed it’s such a unique and memorable thing to have done! I cannot recommend this enough!"

Angelica reviewed: Candle making class & bubbly in Brighton & Hove

"An enjoyable way to spend a few hours In Brighton. The instructions were clear and candles we made turned out beautifully. I particularly liked that we were able to cover potential mishaps in the world of candle-making so we'd be better equipped to deal with them if/when they'd happen to us when not under expert supervision."

Harriet Anderson reviewed: Mount cutting and effective presentation for painters and photographers

"I had an inspiring day with Lynne and saw with my own eyes how adding or changing the mount can transform a picture. Mount cutting really is an essential skill for all artists and Lynne is an excellent teacher to learn with. She was well-prepared, always clear in her instructions, paid attention to necessary detail, and was altogether immensely generous with her time and input. And her homemade cake was second to none. Altogether an excellent workshop."
