Richard (Dickie) EMMETT reviewed: Beginners Upholstery Footstool Course

"What a fantastic day! Really nice relaxed and warm welcome, then on to business. Step by step, patient and clear input from Sarah. Everything is explained clearly and demonsrated, with help on hand to guide you. Confidence grows as the day goes on and you come away with something to be proud of. On the day I attended, everyone was friendly and there was a nice cosy atmosphere. I was almost sad when it was over. Totally recommended thing to do.. (and there is a bakery just round the corner that does top pasties and lunch things) Dickie E"

Diane Cole reviewed: Natural skincare workshops at Touch of Beauty (full day)

"I had a truly lovely day in beautiful surroundings. Sue was so welcoming and friendly and very knowledgeable. It was fascinating learning about the different types of waxes, oils and essential oils available, along with the methods of the various items we made and just fantastic to be able to get hands on and make them myself - with Sue’s help of course! The goody bag at the end was the icing on the cake, to be able to take everything you’ve made home with you and have the information pack so you can make them again is great. I would thoroughly recommend it."

Touch of Beauty responded:

"Thank you Di for your lovely review. It was a pleasure to spend the day with you and to share all the lovely ingredients. I so enjoy seeing how relaxed and engrossed people become in the creative process. It was great to see that by just experimenting with different oils you could feel the benefits to your skin. Thank you for choosing Touch of Beauty and I’m glad you enjoyed yourself. Sue"

Alida Price reviewed: Saturday Silver Clay Jewellery Workshop at Ransom's Pavilion, Hitchin 9.30am - 12.30pm

"The tutor I had was very accommodating to all of the people on the course and gave valuable information while also being friendly and approachable. She provided all of the materials needed with extra things such as chains, jump rings and earring backs which were very useful. The way she showed us how to create the silver clay was very useful so that you could do the same thing at home. The course was very fun with a good amount of time to practice and I didn't feel pressured to finish in a certain time frame. Overall I would recommend this to anyone as it does not need mass creativity to make yourself so anyone can go onto the course for a fun time."

Tuuli Parker responded:

"Thank you so much for your lovely review Alida! I loved seeing what you've been able to create with the clay. Good luck with your interview xx"

Tristan Luscombe reviewed: Knife Making and Bladesmith Classes: Hand-Forged Viking Knife

"I had my introduction to blacksmithing course yesterday and at the end of the day I was tired, dirty and grinning like an idiot. This was easily the best day I've had in a very long time indeed and I got a poker and kitchen knife out of it too! Being only a small group of students meant that we had the undivided attention of tutors John, David and Spencer and they're a cracking bunch of blokes; friendly, knowledgeable, funny and they really made the day special for everyone. I would unequivocally recommend this course to anyone interested in blacksmithing or bladesmithing and wants an introduction to the practical aspects. I'm saving up for my next visit!"

Anvil Forge responded:

"Hi Tristan I think that your comments say it all! we all feel pretty lucky meeting you guys and helping you all have a great time as well as making some pretty great blades along the way . Dont forget to watch this space as we have few new courses ( axes , bushcraft with another smith etc) coming up during the summer. best wishes John"
