Jane Rushby reviewed: 'Bag in a Day' Practical Leather Course - Mini Bucket bag

"I had such a lovely time on this course. The choice of materials to make the bag from was fabulous, it was hard to choose, but I was very happy with my green/red combo. Georgie is a creative, knowledgeable and very kind and friendly teacher. It was quite hard work, learning to use the tools and machines, and Georgie was on hand to help us along and we had plenty of 1:1 attention from her. My bag is fabulous, I’ve been using it daily for work and have it on holiday with me now. I’ll be doing another course this year for sure! The course was held in a lovely workshop space, and we had delicious refreshments and lunch. Thank you Georgie ?"

Hands of Tym responded:

"Thank you! It was such a great day with you all :) Your green bag is great - I want one! Enjoy using it and please share a pics! Gxxx"

Francis Burns reviewed: Stone carving for beginners - Weymouth

"John is a fantastic artist and an exceptional teacher. He seems to really understand YOU, as an individual, and to give you exactly what you need to achieve your goals. Nothing is rushed -- everything is paced beautifully. Nothing is skipped -- you get all the knowledge and skill you need to get the results. And not only do you come away with a sense of accomplishment in the art you have created, more importantly, you also come away with an unshakeable CERTAINTY in the new set of skills you have acquired and the feeling that doors have opened into a whole new world of creativity. I highly recommend this workshop to all -- EVERYONE can benefit from this."

Andrew reviewed: Stained glass leading for beginners

"Had a wonderful time. Jamal has great experience, and the stories he tells of his past is enthralling. He passes his knowledge on very well, and the way he shows you the steps required to make your own piece of stained glass makes it easy to learn. I would highly recommend this course to anyone who would like to give stained glass making a try."

Belinda reviewed: Contemporary Furniture Refinishing & Upcycling with Woodcare - 2 Day Workshop

"Oliver has loads of knowledge and was happy to share anything we were after. The class size was small (3 ppl) so we all got time with him individually. As each student did different items we got to listen and learn about other furniture too. He has a high finishing standard and is keen to pass on this work ethic so you end up with a piece of work which is yours, and looks great. The workshop is warm (even thought it is super cold outside) with all tools you need in reach, light and airy - I really liked this 2 day course, I traveled up from London to attend and it was well worth it."

Jackie Small reviewed: Stained glass leading for beginners

"It was a real privilege to spend a day with someone as skilled and talented as Jamal. As someone who loves bring creative but who lacks any natural artistic talent this course was perfect fit me. He patiently took us through each step of the stained glass leading process. His instruction was clear and his level of support just right. I would never have believed I would be carrying hone my own little price of lovingly crafted leaded stained glass at the end of just one day! Spending the day in his cosy little studio, with classical music playing softly in the background, thinking about nothing other than crafting my piece was almost like therapy. I felt totally relaxed when I got into my car to drive home. I am considering taking up Stained Glass as my new hobby as I enter semi-retirement. I know enough to get started tomorrow but need to decide whether my commitment is strong enough to justify the initial investment in all the tools and equipment."

"I am a Secondary school teacher in school in Staffordshire. This course exceeded my expectations. Money well spent with an exceedingly knowledgable teacher. a wonderful day."

Rose Dargett reviewed: 'Glass for the garden' with the Cheshire School of Glass

"A well put together course that anyone would enjoy who likes being creative. You don't have to have worked in glass before to do this course, there was a mix of people on the course from beginners to people who had kilns. Jenny , the teacher catered for all levels with ease. Wonderful results in a lovely setting. All materials and refreshments included. I will go back and do more courses. It was good value for money I think."

Sarah Barnes reviewed: Introduction to glass fusing at the Cheshire School of Glass

"This was the best crafts course I have been on and I've been on quite a few over the years. Jenny has a lovely studio on a farm with great facilities. We were all welcomed ( there were 4 of us ) , with coffee and cake and given a really good introduction talk that explained the process of glass fusing. The day went far too quickly, it was a wonderful mix of creativity, good company and learning new many skills. I collected my pieces the next day and couldn't believe how wonderful everything was that came out. Everyone made 3 big wall panels - you can have them framed by Jenny in the week - which I did order, for my favourite piece and it looked really good!"

TONY BUTCHER reviewed: Stonecarving Weekend, Gloucestershire Cotswolds

"We had a fantastic weekend, with the right amount of information and practical help. Sebastian was great, being encouraging and supportive as well as giving precise directions when requested. He has an approachable, relaxed manner, which allowed us to explore and find our way in what was, for us a totally new and unfamiliar adventure. We each managed to almost complete the piece of work and we feel confident that we will finish it either at home or come back for another great weekend. A thoroughly enjoyable experience."

Peter and Bryan reviewed: Blacksmithing Beginners day courses in Yorkshire and the North East

"Absolutely fantastic day led by some totally awesome people. Bought this for my Dad as a thematic birthday present after he drunkenly convinced everyone he was descended from Vikings. Neither of us have done anything like this before so we weren't sure what to expect. Fire... Metal... Hitting things with hammers... It's got it all. After we arrived and were fully warmed through with flapjack and coffee Adrian got straight into it, explaining and demonstrating each step of the process with practiced ease. There was plenty of space for everyone, with one anvil each and two people per forge meaning you were completely free to experiment at your own pace. After the practice pieces were finished we moved straight on to the more complex piece which required a little more teamwork and perseverance but came out looking fantastic. Again Adrian and Andy were on hand to provide support, advice and laughs throughout. Lunch was fantastic - warming homemade vegetarian chili cooked by Debbie followed by mind blowing crumble and a great atmosphere. Altogether can't recommend this enough for anyone looking for a real experience that's a little different. Thanks again Adrian and Debbie for an unforgettable day!"
