Emma reviewed: Paper Marbling Class Full Day at Portsmouth Museum

"We had a great afternoon with James. We were both new to ebru and James made us feel very comortable, to a point we were confident enough to play around with different ideas and techniques. James is a great teacher and adapted his style to what each of us needed, so we got a lot more out of the lesson than we had anticipated. Highly recommend!"

Dennis Newton reviewed: Lucy Churchill's Stone Carving Workshops

"I had always fancied having a go at stone carving so I was delighted that I received a course with Lucy for Christmas. Every aspect of the course was fantastic. Lucy is a first rate teacher, my course had three complete novices on it and by lunchtime on the first day we were all confidently working on our projects by the end of day three I felt like had been doing it for years. Lucy is always there hovering in the background advising and guiding but letting us do our own thing, the time flew by. I have no artistic talent whatsoever and after much deliberation I decided that I would make a birdbath. The full sized bath would have a large lump of stone so Lucy suggested I scale it down a bit but still practice all of the techniques for the full sized piece. My finished bath measures 440x200x125 (not that small). It sits in my garden with some grit and pebbles in it waiting for the local butterfly's to take a drink. I am extremely proud that I was able to create a thing of such beauty! I can't recommend Lucy's course highly enough."

Carol Durrant reviewed: Bushcraft and Survival Skills Course

"Peter & Jackie welcomed the group into their lovely woods that were just beginning to burst into a bluebell carpet. I enjoyed the shelter building, water purification, cordage and navigation sessions and the fire lighting segment was particularly fun, instructive and even, at times, theatrical! Many thanks to "Explore The Great Outdoors" for a relaxing and informative day amongst the trees."

Åse Wilson reviewed: Jewellery making with silver clay - one day beginners workshop

"A fantastic day with Charlotte in her studio! She is really friendly and made me feel at ease straight away. Due to low teacher / student ratio she was able to tailor the level of teaching and I felt equally guided and inspired. Enjoyed developing my own ideas with Charlottes help. Very knowledgable - great that she had a background in silversmithing as well as the silver clay. Venue easy to find by car. Highly recommend!"

Ben reviewed: Make a Windsor chair

"Just do it. I've now done a couple of courses with Ben and they've been ace. You learn so much over the 10 weeks, and Ben gives you the prefect balance of guidance and trust to try things out. After hectic days at work - doing woodwork is almost like going to therapy, it completely clears your head. I love it. I'll be signing up for more courses. Best investment I've made in a long time!"

Tee Stevenson reviewed: One day mosaic workshop - Lincolnshire

"I was lucky enough to receive a voucher for Caron's mosaic course for my birthday last year. I took my Mum along too who also enjoys learning about different crafts. Caron is so friendly and approachable and made the day really enjoyable. We both designed a mirror and were shown how to cut tiles and score pieces of glass, smoothing them on the grinder before sticking them into place and finally grouting. Really pleased with the results and it has inspired us both to try more pieces ourselves...now we know what to do! Caron's studio is full of lovely pieces and provides an ideal place to work. The atmosphere is relaxed and you don't feel under pressure to create a masterpiece (unless that's your aim). The lunch provided was home cooked and delicious! What a great day out - would fully recommend Caron and her courses."

Mayfly Mosaics responded:

"Good morning to you both, It was lovely meeting both of you yesterday and a pleasure to introduce you to the world of mosaics. I hope the grouting goes well any problems give me a call. Caron & Matt x"

"A fantastic course with a lovely group of fellow novices! Lori is a really good teacher, calm and patient with the ability to match the pace of the teaching so that no-one was waiting or feeling rushed. Venue is beautiful, and the weather was gorgeous which meant that we got to enjoy the stunning views over to Carsington reservoir in the sun trap of a garden. Lunch was excellent and afternoon cakes were scrummy. Thoroughly recommend Zantium and this course. I'm already planning what to do next. Thank you for a fun day"

Dawn Melloy reviewed: Needle Felted Hares / Bunnies (1 day) in the Peak District

"An excellent day in the beautiful rural heart of Derbyshire. The workshop was great fun and excellently run by Von Allen. I was really proud of my cute Hare (Harriet) even though I was a complete beginner. The whole day felt like being a welcome house guest, with a homemade lunch of soup, bread rolls, fruits, cheeses etc. Afternoon tea was, again, homemade. This time mouthwatering chocolate and almond cake. I cannot recommend the event and Zantium Studios highly enough."
