"Had such a lovely day! My mom bought me this course as a gift for my 40th birthday, I got to make some lovely pieces, an ankle bracelet that incorporated my star sign and birth stone personalised with my maiden name, married name and birth date which is really special to me and also x2 rings for myself and 1 for my mom to remember the day too! I’m so happy with my handmade jewellery and the experience was great! Jolene is a fabulous teacher and lovely person too! Definitely a day to remember and will definitely be going back, can’t recommend enough! Thankyou Jolene for a very special experience and lovely day xx"

Kevin Stones reviewed: Introduction to Blacksmithing in North York Moors National Park

"This was an excellent course which had a programme of work that took you through some of the basic skills. David is an excellent tutor, always calm, and leads you through the different processes whilst giving you the feeling that you are always in control of your own work. I would highly recommend this course for anybody, although it may be a totally different experience it is something that you will enjoy, and remember, and have practical evidence to show. I also had a great lunch. Many thanks David."

Deborah Ball reviewed: Pole Lathe Bowl Turning - Your First Bowl

"Had a fabulous day in the woods pole lathe bowl turning. The tutoring was excellent. The equipment was first rate - it was the first time I had turned on a pole lathe so it was a steep learning curve made much easier by Adrian's guidance and support. Great company of fellow turners and as usual the lunch was lovely and the setting at Greenwood Days was perfect. I love my finished bowl and its bumps, ridges and imperfections make it unique! I'd highly recommend this experience."

Del smith reviewed: Introduction to letter carving in wood

"Excellent tuition, Sarah taught me many things I didn’t know which was quite an advancement on the limited knowledge I had. I would have no problem recommending Sarah to anyone, and would attend again if the venue was nearer. Sarah was pleasant company, made you feel welcome, and had the ability to teach in a satisfying way."

Terry Bourne reviewed: One inspiring day of mono printing from nature in artists studio near York

"What a wonderful inspiring time we had. Emily was so organised, skilled, and encouraging. Because the class was small, we had time to experiment. We were so enthused that we plan to do more ourselves with a newly purchased portable printing machine. Thank you Emily."

Angela C reviewed: A Practical Dry Stone Walling Workshop Central London

"I attended the 1 day Introduction to DSW at Mudchute Farm. What an incredible day, I learnt so much about an ancient craft. John is a wonderful teacher who takes the time to explain the fundamentals, the terminology and encourages you to jump straight in and have a go. John answered all our questions, describing in detail why some techniques are better than others, how to identify suitable stones and fashion the stone to fit its placement. I felt so confident by the end of the day that I can't wait to start constructing DSW on my property thanks to John's tutoring."

London School of Dry Stone Walling responded:

"Hello Angela - Thank you for your positive feedback. It was great to see your work and ability improve during the day, juggling the stone to find the right face and familiarity with engineering terms. It is a 'hands-on' activity and best to do it, developing a 'natural eye'. Great to learn you may well be using the techniques to build DSW walls on your property. Take Care, Best Wishes, John"

Andrew Wheeler reviewed: Blacksmith experience day in Bristol with Joanna Williams, Fire Iron Art

"Absolutely brilliant day, have worked with steel most of my life, but not done any serious smithing, Joanna is a great teacher, and I learnt a lot whilst there. Pick up your hammer and beat some steel, you'll go home with something unique to you, made with your own hands, carefully guided of course, and a smile on your face when you show off your creation."

Fire Iron Art Blacksmithing responded:

"Thank you for your review! It was great fun teaching you and you picked things up well and the pieces you made were very well forged and good quality. So glad you enjoyed the day."

Marcella McQuilkin reviewed: Making silk flowers workshop

"An excellent day, productive and very creative, using techniques with heat that produced effective results. Managed to produce a really lovely Gerbera inspired brooch that is perfect to wear on my coat, jacket or my broad straw hat I wore the next day. Rose is warm and very welcoming and modelled each step in the process perfectly."

Made with Rose responded:

"Thank you for your feedback Marcella, I certainly enjoyed working with you. Your Gerbera brooch was an excellent example of your creativity in bloom and made a stunning accessory."

Julia reviewed: Amazing encaustic art day course

"My 11 year old son and I had the most amazing day this week with Phil on his Encaustic Wax day. We loved the whole day and came away so inspired and energised from all we had learnt. Phil led us through all the different techniques and then we created lots of our own pictures. It was wonderful to learn something completely new - something that we had never heard of before. We couldn't resist buying a starter pack! We spent most of yesterday making our own creations at home and we're thrilled with our results. We plan to make lots of our pictures into cards and I don't think I will ever need to buy a card again! As my 11 year old said, 'I have now found a new hobby.' Thank you Phil!"

Phil Madley responded:

"Thank you for the great review, it was a pleasure teaching you but I think you are both naturals and so keen you did encaustic art the next day too..."

Jon Hawke reviewed: Wood turning courses in the Midlands

"Magic Mark - Like others before me …. I was a complete novice at woodturning and after only one full-on day with Mark I have a beautiful fruit bowl in 'spalted elm' and the motivation to do a lot more turning. I can't fault Mark's teaching. He was always there to give the best advice and his knowledge of the subject is outstanding. Above all else, Mark gave me confidence. Just to say that I thought his workshop was superbly equipped and organised. Definitely 5 Stars all round from me !"

Carole H reviewed: Make a silver ring or bangle

"A lovely summer's day in early August. As I arrive the front garden has beautiful agapanthas in bloom. I walk through the side passage and across the courtyard to where Lucy has prepared the workshop with the fan going for perfect working conditions. I am continuing with my bangle project: polishing, soldering and preparing mounts. Time passes and suddenly it is time for lunch! I finish with a relaxing cup of tea in the back garden listening to the gurgle of water flowing into Lucy's goldfish pond. Back to work for more informative tuition and experience in soldering using charcoal nuggets inside the mount to help solder to flow and also prevent marking of the mounts from the binding wire. Another wonderful day ends - as always, too quickly - and time to make my way home."

Claire reviewed: Team building clay sessions

"A big thank you to Kate for our team building session. We were looking for an creative activity which could cater for all abilities/ages as well as bond us as a team and Kate's session was exactly what we were looking for. The beautiful setting at The Hub to have lunch at beforehand was also very lovely and gave us a chance to relax and catch up before the activity started. I’ve only had good feedback from the team and we are looking forward to receiving our finished pieces!"

Kate Schuricht Ceramics responded:

"Thanks, Claire, it was great working with you all and I am glad you enjoyed the Team Building session. It was a lot of fun! The pieces are all ready so I will drop them off soon."

Becky Payne reviewed: 'Art of Stained Glass' - Oldbury, Birmingham

"I was gifted a workshop in glass leading and attended with my daughter (August 2019). The day was informative, productive and creative. Jamal is a brilliant craftsman - his passion for his art (and the medium of glass) is infectious. We created our own (very simple) designs but left understanding so much about stained glass - we will be back for the painting course sometime soon!"

Steph reviewed: Blacksmithing - one to one - Hammer Skills

"Booked this course as a surprise for my fiance who loves gaming, fantasy and forged in fire! So obviously he loved it! Bob was amazing, very patient and obviously very skilled in his craft. We did the half day course and, as well as making tips and learning hammer skills, at the end he got to make his own viking knife! Very enjoyable experience and we will be back for another half day soon! Thanks Bob!! #legend"
