Description
During the workshop you will learn the techniques of encaustic wax painting. Phil will demonstrate and show you how to use this fantastic medium and you will produce several wax paintings which are yours to keep. This day course can be booked for 2 people or as a one to one, please just select your preferred booking option. By the end of the day you will be able to use the tools of encaustic wax painting to produce your own work. Fantasy castles, unbelievable abstracts, fabulous flowers, landscapes, cityscapes even figurative work - all this and much more awaits. Phil provides a fun and informative workshop but be warned this form of art is highly addictive. The course will take place in my art studio overlooking my garden, which is in the pretty village of Wilstone - near the Grand Union canal and the Wilstone reservoirs nature reserve. Hertfordshire/Buckinghamshire border. Easy, free parking available. My cottage is two doors away from a picturesque pub "The Half Moon" which serves excellent affordable fayre. Booking recommended. Phil Madley is a specialist encaustic wax artist and not only teaches but does demonstrations and talks to art groups and societies throughout Southern England. He successfully exhibits his work mainly in Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire. Phil has a City & Guilds certificate in teaching adults and has experience teaching in colleges, art groups and working with individuals. He has taught at Missenden Abbey - Summer schools and evening classes. Phil is a very creative and enthusiastic teacher and not only will you learn a great deal but it will be a fun and informative day. Prepare to be amazed.
What's included in the price?
- A brief introduction to encaustic art over a coffee. - Use of all encaustic art tools, specialist iron, hot stylus, hot air gun, hot plate scriber, coloured waxes and encaustic card all included. - 2.5 hours of tuition, break for lunch followed by a further 2 hours of tuition. - All artwork you produce is yours to keep. - Free tea/coffee all day. Phil has been a designer and artist since he was eighteen. Originally working in advertising and design he now specialises in encaustic art selling his paintings, producing commissions, teaching and demonstrating to Art Societies. He teaches from his studio in Wilstone on the Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire border, a lovely picturesque village near lakes, countryside and the Grand Union Canal.
