Make your own contemporary sinamay halo headpiece - online
Description
If you would like to make your own sinamay halo contemporary headpiece - ready for a wedding, summer party, or special event - in a colour to co-ordinate with your outfit and learn some basic millinery techniques along the way - then this is the course for you! This online workshop is designed to help you increase your understanding of sinamay - a core millinery product – and how to use it to make a sinamay halo base, an essential millinery technique. You will learn to create your very own fabulous halo-style wired headpiece, and then decorate it with a choice of trims. The course will give you an overview of working with sinamay - including manipulating the bias - as well as how to make sinamay trims including lilies, loops and swirls, to finish your own sophisticated headpiece. This online course is spread over two sessions both lasting in the region of 2- 2.5 hours. It is suitable for beginners, though some sewing skills are helpful, and runs with two students only. Please message me prior to booking to inquire if your preferred date and time are available. This is essential if you are a non-UK student please so we can set up two mutually convenient dates, allowing for the time differences. If you would prefer an "in-person" course with the materials provided please look at the other listing for the course, which can run in NE67 or NE1.
What's included in the price?
If you are interested in creating a headpiece finished with flowers as your trimming option, please purchase a selection of small to medium size silk-style artificial flowers and I will guide you as to the position and attachment of the flowers you have provided during the second session. The course is structured to allow you time to work at your own pace, completing a little homework in between the session.
