Textile landscape workshop in Dorset
Description
This course caters for all abilities, from beginners to the more experienced and I offer one to one tuition throughout the day as required. My landscape courses often use the technique of appliqué - the fabrics being attached by either an electric or hand sewing machine. You can also opt to use a very simple hand technique using collage and iron-on bonding fabrics if you do not have or do not wish to use a sewing machine. Over the course of one day, you will learn the techniques of building up a landscape using a variety of fabrics that will give depth and colour to your work. The workshops take place in my North Dorset studio which offers a safe, light and warm environment with plenty of space to spread out with onsite parking. We are on the ground floor but no wheelchair access unfortunately.

Maker
Although I graduated with a BA(Hons) in Fine Art (painting) from West Surrey College of Art and obtained an MA Fine Art (sculpture) from the Arts University Bournemouth, I have always enjoyed working with textiles and have done so for more than 45 years. I am a practising artist and exhibit regularly as a member of the salon group of Dorset Visual Arts and Wessex Contemporary Arts as well as in larger collective exhibitions.
