Whether you’re looking to experiment with sculptural forms or add a new skill to your jewellery-making practice, this class is the perfect starting point. In this one-day workshop, you’ll learn the fundamentals of wax carving, from shaping and refining your design to preparing your piece for casting. While we won’t have time to cover the casting process in class, your tutor will explain how it works and recommend a trusted casting company so you can complete your piece in metal after the course. What you’ll learn: 🔹 Designing for wax carving. 🔹 Understanding different types of wax and their properties. 🔹 Using wax carving tools to shape and refine your designs. 🔹 Creating wax masters ready for casting. 🔹 Full guidance on how and where to get your wax pieces cast affordably. Most students will create a wax ring and a pendant or charm during the session, giving you hands-on experience with the technique. Want to take your skills further?
