Description

Come along and learn Sashiko. This is a type of traditional Japanese embroidery or stitching used for the decorative and/or functional reinforcement of cloth and clothing. We will be introducing the technique by making a decorative coaster or small sample project. Although we will get most of the way through your make, you will probably need to finish it at home. All materials will be provided. Please bring reading glasses if you need them. Come along and try something new!

What's included in the price?

All materials (Denim. Embroidery floss and Needles) are provided for workshop. So you don't need to bring anything along. The supplies for this course have been provided through generous donations from other crafters. ** We are a small charity devoted to getting people into craft. We aim to keep our workshop price as low as possible in order to make crafting as accessible as we can. So if you are clearing out your cupboards, please feel free to bring anything to the workshop that needs a new home. This could include fabric left over from a project, craft supplies you don't think you will use, habadashery or acrylic paint. We will use it to run future workshops, create tutorials or make sure that it put to good use. ** Children (10 years & up) are welcome at the session, but they must be accompanied by an adult (with a separate ticket). If you have any disabilities or support needs we will do our best to accommodate you. Please just drop us an email ahead of time to talk it through.
