We also provide lampshade and cushion making workshops. BRING YOUR OWN UPHOLSTERY PROJECT BLOCK OF 5 DAYS Are you looking to learn the wonderful art of upholstery? Or perhaps you’re already hooked and would like to improve your skills? At MODE Upholstery School we are dedicated to help you achieve this. Your tutor Sarah is a Master Upholsterer and has been teaching upholstery since 2012. She is a full member of the AMUSF, so you can be assured that you will be in safe & knowledgeable hands. This 5 days can be booked to suit your availability and schedule offering complete flexibility. The only requirement is for your days to be taken within a 6 month period from your booking date. This workshop is open to all from beginner to improver and gives you the opportunity and time to work on a more challenging project. Perhaps you’d like to learn deep buttoning, traditional and/or modern fluting techniques or perhaps reupholster a tub chair – the choices are endless. Whilst there is no limitation to the item of furniture you wish to bring along – you will need to be able to transport it to and from class. The training room is easily accessed and there are not stairs to negotiate. During your time with MODE you will be: - Introduced to the tools of the trade and how to use them safely. - Strip back the layers of existing upholstery. - Clean & make good the framework, (major repairs may need to be carried out by a carpenter). - Paint, wax or french polish show wood. - Reupholster using traditional or modern materials (webbing, hessian, horsehair etc.) and techniques sympathetic to the age of your project A full set of tools are available for you to use during your time with MODE, if you have your own please bring them with you. MODE Upholstery School reserves the right to postpone/cancel a booking in the event of any unforeseen circumstances or because minimum numbers have not been reached. In these circumstances an alternative date/s will be offered or a full refund given.

What's included in the price?

Tea, coffee & nibbles etc., are available. Tools are provided for you to use during the workshop. Upholstery supplies are charged for on a as used basis at discounted rates. Free Onsite Parking No stairs to negotiate.
