Description

Our comprehensive Essential Blackwork embroidery distance and online learning masterclass is suitable for complete beginners and those who want to refresh their knowledge. Distance learning allows you to study in the comfort of your own home, at your own pace and you will also have access to the online content via Cademy. For your security we register students manually so this may take a few hours (GB time). Once registered, you will receive an email direct from Cademy with your login information. Blackwork embroidery became popular in Tudor and Elizabethan times but has grown to become a wonderful way to create stunning embroidered art with very few supplies. Contrary to what the name suggests, Blackwork does not have to be stitched with black threads. It is a great way to fill in large areas in any embroidery and you can even use metallic threads. You will learn about appropriate fabrics and threads. How to create filling stitches and shade using different thread thicknesses and part stitches. Throughout the course you will have one to one tutor access via e.mail for 6 months. (We make every attempt to answer e.mails the same day). Upon completion of the course you will have all the skills needed to attempt your own pieces or more complicated works. Delegates will receive a certificate of achievement upon submission of images of the completed project. Course dates: Join any time (Kit is sent via Royal Mail, so please allow 2-5 working days). Venue: In the comfort of your own home. Time: Approx 10 hours but there really is no limit. Places available: Unlimited.
