Join Rachel Reynolds for a one-day workshop where you’ll design and monoprint your own tea towel! You'll learn and discover design and linocut techniques to create a striking block repeat pattern printed onto fabric. Start with inspiration for drawings and designs for lino cutting, master the creation of a block repeat pattern, and cut the lino using specialist tools. Experiment with layouts and print onto cotton fabric samples before finishing with a unique block-printed cotton tea towel. Take home your lino cuts, prints, and finished tea towel. What you'll learn: - Safely carve with V and U-shaped lino-cutting tools - Create textures and designs using various mark-making techniques - Transfer your design onto a tea towel - Experiment with single-color block printing ink - Properly ink up your lino By the end of the class, you'll feel confident in designing, carving, and -printing your handmade block print design onto a tea towel, perfect for personal use or as a gift for a loved one! No experience is necessary—this workshop is suitable for beginners and all levels! Please bring your own lunch, there are nearby supermarkets and eateries available.

The Dart is a community venue for all ages who wish to engage with arts, crafts and music. Our centre-run courses are led by professional practitioners or artists in hour long, half or full day workshops, including children’s holiday activities and cookery courses.  We encourage local artists to exhibit in our foyer, sell work or perform at open mic nights. The Dart boasts specialist rooms for dance, drama, art and music which are available for hire throughout the evenings and weekends.
