"This is a very great workshop if you’re interested in learning how to make a traditional lampshade. I have completed my first ever shade and I couldn’t be more proud of how it turned out. Prior to the workshop, I had zero sewing skills and never used a sewing machine before. Sarah was so patient and kindly taught me how to do both. I was a new student in the class, the rest were returning students which was a good sign. It was such a very pleasant weekend. I learnt so much. Time went past so quickly. Now I’m looking forward to doing more classes with Sarah. I couldn’t recommend this class enough. If you’re looking for a traditional lampshade making class. This is the one."

"Had an absolutely fantastic day on the course last week and came home excited to book another session. Sarah was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful throughout the day making sure to spend time with each of us, answering any questions we had. She explained how the day would pan out early on and was really friendly engaging in conversation as a group so we could get to know each other. "Really excellent workshop. Sarah is very knowledgeable and patient and guides you carefully through your project with full consideration of safety, both while you are working and in terms of the fire safety etc of the finished item. Upholstery is very creative (in terms of the output) but there is some serious hard work involved, at least on my restoration of antique pieces. Classes are small so there is a lot of individual attention and tailored support, plus lots of tea and coffee!"

"I would highly recommend this course to anyone that wants to have a go at upholstery, whether it be for a home project or to see if it is a hobby or career you may want to pursue. Sarah has a wealth of knowledge in upholstery and interiors, and as she limits the size of the groups to 6 people, it means she also dedicates a lot of time to each individual in the group. There is no pressure to keep up with others, and although there is a lot of information to take in during the day, I found the course very relaxing and enjoyable, and will certainly be booking on to another course in the future."

"I booked this course as I have always been interested in upholstery. I absolutely loved the day and came away feeling so inspired. Before the course even started, Sarah was on hand to help and answer any queries I had. For my session there were only four of us so Sarah was able to provide constant help and advice throughout the day. Sarah was so knowledgeable and experienced. No matter how simple my questions were, she never make me feel inadequate or silly! Sarah created a really relaxing environment which made me feel at ease while also learning a fabulous new skill. I would highly recommend the taster session for anyone who is interested."
