Matt reviewed: Copper foiling at the Cheshire School of Glass

"A really enjoyable course. The instructor was patient and explained/demoed everything clearly. My only problem was that I wish the course was over two days so I had more time to practice soldering and cutting. "

Barb Cannell reviewed: Stained glass for all at the Cheshire School of Glass

"Bought as a gift for my sister - but decided to tag along - This probably was the best art course I have been on and I have delivered quite a few myself! Incredible, knowledgeable and skilful Practitioners, who nurture individuals through cutting and snapping glass - into an intricate bespoke stain glass, with all the patience of saints - set in a professional studio. Best two days I had for a long time -planning to return and try a variety of other classes - truly uplifting, inspirational experience - worth every penny "

Jackie Brook reviewed: 'Glass for the garden' with the Cheshire School of Glass

"What a wonderful day learning a new skill with Jen who was so informative and patient. This was a birthday presant and one of the best. The day went very quickly as it was so absorbing to be experimenting with the glass. One flower made and a glass panel which will be mounted on a metal support in the garden. We were four in our little group with two other ladies in another class making beautiful jewellery. I am inspired to book another day soon. Highly recommended. Many thanks."

Charlotte Jeffery reviewed: Landscapes and seascapes at the Cheshire School of Glass

"After taking an introductory glass fusing glass with Jen, I immediately booked this class for me and my partner. We both really enjoyed our day and learnt such a lot. I based my landscape on one of my Dad’s paintings of a landmark near my Mum’s hometown. My partner made a seascape of one of our favourite places. Jen helped us both - suggesting techniques and materials to turn our ideas into glass reality. It was such an inspiring day and my Mum loves the panel I gifted her."

Cheshire School of Glass responded:

"Awww, thank you so much Charlotte for the lovely review. I hope you are both well and busy quilting . xx"

Charlotte Jeffery reviewed: Introduction to glass fusing at the Cheshire School of Glass

"After a busy period at work, I decided to take a day off to attend a glass fusing class. It was the perfect antidote. Her studio is a creative haven and Jen is a generous and enthusiastic teacher. She helped me settle on a design and gave clear guidance on how that idea could be translated into glass. I created two panels that I am immensely happy with and I left with an enormous smile on my face. An absolutely brilliant day."

Cheshire School of Glass responded:

"Thank you so much. Great spending the day with you. x"

Jan reviewed: Intermediate glass fusing at the Cheshire School of Glass

"Another fantastic course. Jen at Cheshire School of Glass is the most amazing teacher. She is technically brilliant, highly creative and excellent at teaching us students. No question ever goes unanswered, and you are encouraged to ask as many questions as you like. I have enjoyed all the classes I have done with Jen, and will be going back for more. The classes are small, so she has time to help each of us when we need it. One of the greatest parts of her courses is that we are allowed to choose what style we want to use for each piece and are encouraged to experiment. This means that you get to take home some great pieces, that you want to put them on show. I have several pieces now, including pictures, bowls, and some I have made for friends and family. I can't recommend Jen's courses more highly."

Heike reviewed: Intermediate glass fusing at the Cheshire School of Glass

"Having attended a beginner's course elsewhere, I can honestly say that Jen's course is excellent. She is generous with her advice, materials and enthusiasm and the two days spent at Cheshire School of Glass were thoroughly enjoyable - as well as very productive. Her power point show with handouts at the beginning revised different types of glass, cohesion factors, kiln programmes etc and then we learnt how to make and use our own moulds, slumping and about different frits and paints etc etc by making a bowl with the moulds, a lace bowl and a personal artwork ... and that was just the first day. Second day included ceramic paints, inclusions, use of mica, metal, foils, how to cut circles and we made a mirror and another, large artwork and we could have made more, had we wished to. There was no restriction to set templates or standard sizes for pieces, we were allowed to make whatever our imagination came up with (which, in our cases, was what we both needed for our bathroom door/window) and expertly guided so that these were successful. Actions speak louder than words - I've decided to do another day working with Jen when I go to pick up my pieces after firing (although the artwork made the first day was ready by the second morning and is already on display at home) and I have signed up for the Christmas decorations course in two months' time as well. Thank you Jen for being such an excellent teacher and for your enthusiasm in helping me learn so much and come away with pieces that I am really pleased with."

"I have just returned from a 1 to 1 course with Jennifer Barker at Cheshire School of Glass. I love working with fused glass and I wanted to take my skills up to the next level. I am so pleased that I have found this school, as the course was absolutely amazing. Jen's knowledge is extensive and her enthusiasm contagious. The course exceeded my expectations and I loved my day so much, that I wished I was there for the full week. I have learnt so much in one day and would say if you are thinking of a course in fused glass, this one is a must. I will definitely be booking another day with Jen and will be putting it on my Christmas list."

"I was recommended this course by a well known UK Glass Suppliers . It was the best creative thing I have ever done, Jenny is an authority in the fusing area and her ability to teach specific kiln worked glass skills is incredible. It was such good value for money considering the materials and information I have come away with. She is a star."

"I have done many creative courses over the last 10 years. Jenny is the most generous teacher I have ever been to. She is one of the UK's leading authorities in glass fusing and makes it hugely easy and enjoyable, effortlessly passing on huge amounts of knowledge and oodles of inspiration. The glass workshop is warm and instantly you feel at home. Jen let us all use our creative freedom but cleverly guided us without us even knowing. A wonderful experience. No wonder so many people rave about her."
