Cath Fulson reviewed: M

"I took my friend Rosie to Maddie's for a mosaic making workshop as a 30th birthday present. It was absolutely all we could have wished for. Maddie was so knowledgeable and helpful, we were surrounded by her beautiful pieces and were in great company. Maddie was lovely to talk to and also very patient and kind which was a great help. Rosie and I had a lot of fun and created pieces that we are very proud of. It's was an afternoon to treasure for both of us and I cannot thank Maddie enough for the experience."

Martin Wood reviewed: One to one, One day, blacksmith course

"I have attended several day courses with Alex over the past 4 years. Alex is a highly experienced and knowledgeable Blacksmith who will tailor the session to suit your needs and experience. The location and setting within the Amberley Chalk pit Museum complex adds to the whole experience and provides a real feeling of how the craft was practiced during an age when Blacksmiths were an integral part of everyday village life."

Lis Riley reviewed: Basket making in Norfolk

"What an excellent course. Julie is a great tutor and super knowledgeable about her craft. With patience she guided us through our day which resulted in some pretty awesome baskets at the end. Each a great success and a credit to Julie's clear and methodical instruction. I'd recommend Julie to anyone (with/without experience) if they were looking to try basket making or even if you needed to brush up or develop what you already know. You really won't be disappointed. Most likely we'll do another!"

Luke mintowt-czyz reviewed: Silicone rubber blanket mould making course: for sculptors and makers

"This is the 2nd course I've done with mark and I can't recommended, it highly enough . The space , surrounding area and teaching were all just as they should be and I consequently learned a lot in a short space of time . I'm really glad that I chose this course rather than trying to work it out myself - it saved me time and money and above all else was a very enjoyable experience"

Luke mintowt-czyz reviewed: Bronze casting weekend

"I can't recommend this course highly enough. I have learnt so much from mark and the course offered exactly the right blend of specialist technical instruction and inclusivity. I met some really wonderful people on the course, of a wide range of ages , backgrounds and abilities and I feel certain that they felt the same way about mark's teaching and the course structure as I did. Cilyrynys is beautiful and a perfect space for a workshop like this. I couldn't have learnt more or been made to feel more welcome"

Anita Dickinson reviewed: Hand-stitched leather tote, satchel or messenger bag course

"I thoroughly enjoyed the weekend and loved the environment, the people and the chance to practice some new skills. Starting with a warm welcome, plentiful hot drinks and the offer of cake and biscuits during the the two days, the atmosphere was relaxed but also very productive. Gaynor's instruction throughout was clear and her teaching manner calm and encouraging. She was enthusiastic and inspiring offering guidance aimed at both completing the project chosen for the weekend, but also developing the skills and knowledge to enable participants to continue at home. I am delighted with the bag I made and looking forward to using it. I have no hesitation in recommending this course."

"I booked on the course as a present for my son and we both really enjoyed it. It was hands on but also educational with lots to learn! Andrew Hughes reviewed: Introduction to traditional green wood turning course

"I have a (very) small amount of green woodworking experience and signed up for the basic pole lathe course as it's something I've always fancied doing but never had the chance. The one to one tuition is excellent and Simon was able to answer all of my questions on how the lathe works and is set up and very gratefully gave me some pointers on tool sharpening and where to buy various bits of kit. He took me through the stages of making a dibber. This was a great exercise - which although simple, has many different techniques which could be used for countless other projects and is something I feel I could now go away and make safely and efficiently by myself. Altogether a great day. Highly recommended."

WILLIAM DAVIS reviewed: Wood turning courses in the Midlands

"Without a doubt, Mark is an excellent teacher. I attended a day course, done on a one to one basis, before embarking on buying my own lathe. So glad I did so, as there are so many features to look for, in both the lathe and the tools for the job. His patience and style makes him a perfect teacher, and I know from other sources his skills are remarkable. I would therefore recommend him for any level of teaching, especially to avoid developing bad habits in the art. His workshop is extensive, and with a central location, it is well worth at least one full day, but ideally longer!"

Dunja is also a supplier, so you can get everything you need for spinning at home, or she'll give advice on what you need to get and where to get it. Highly recommended. Thank you Dunja!"
