"I took a sampler quilt course with Chris and Kate at the beginning of the year and I've now signed up to this block of the month. They are very knowledgable and good fun. Two tutors for the price of one and I love this design"

Janet Pierpoint reviewed: One to one, One day, blacksmith course

"My husband knowing I always fancied having a go, treated me to this one day course for my 50th birthday. I knew what I wanted to make and Alex was up for it and so made a 5ft garden osbliske for my mop head hydrangea in the garden. It took all day and I had to weld it together later at home in our shed with my son's help. It was hard work and hot but I really had a brillant day, so much so, that my daughter commented on the way home that I look like a chimney sweep, my face being black from working on the forge. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and now wish to continue, Alex was great and very patient. So ladies, (and men) Blacksming is so rewarding and it's not just for boys!"

Helen Davidson reviewed: Green Man Ceramic wall sculpture

"I am a regular at Linda's workshops - why? Because it's a fab way to spend a Sunday creating something you would have thought was well beyond you. Linda's relaxed and informal teaching style - not to mention baking skills - are excellent. Go along and give it a try!"

Sofia Billett reviewed: Tapestry weaving workshop for beginners

"Jane is a wonderful enthusiastic teacher and makes you feels very welcome in her fabulous studio. She provides everything you need from materials, to encouragement, to lovely food (with the help of her charming husband Graham). The pace of the workshop is very good and I was able to learn so much. You can also leave with a finished piece which gives you a great sense of achievement. Time runs fast and before you know it, it is time to go home...highly recommend it!"

Ray and Alison Canham reviewed: Make silver jewellery using precious metal clay or silver clay

"We weren't sure what to expect when we booked to make our own wedding rings but the day was wonderful. Toni's an engaging, patient and informative tutor. She explained every step and made sure we were able to practice as much as we liked until we felt competent to use the silver clay. The whole process is simpler than we expected and we were able to enjoy every step, which has made the rings even more special. Toni kept the rings for us and made sure they were highly polished ready for our big day. We've had loads of compliments on the rings including from a complete stranger while we were on honeymoon who spotted Alison's and asked about it. Highly recommended."

Carol Burmeister reviewed: Basic throwing with Jon French

"I have just taken my pots home and put them in my art/pottery room and low and behold they are much bigger than the others I have made. Therefore my objective on going on the course has been achieved. Let's hope I maintain the new quality and size. During the course I realised I had been throwing incorrectly and corrected this during the course really quickly. I had also misunderstood a few basic principles and came home more knowledgeable about throwing and how process-driven pot making is. I enjoyed the relaxed and supportive atmosphere. Being a retired primary school teacher I knew that Kevin really enjoyed his work (both teaching and potting), and conveyed that to his students. This can be inspirational and if done really well, out of the hundreds Kevin teaches, will produce future gifted teachers and potters."
