kim Langley reviewed: M & K Raku workshops

"What a fantastic day. Mark and Kirsteen are great teachers, imparting all the mysteries of Raku firing with flair. They were a wealth of knowledge and advice on glazes was excellent. For anyone wanting to understand the Raku process or the beginner who would like to venture into glazing techniques and Raku firing this a must course. I cannot recommend this course enough. I came away with some fantastic Raku fired pots and am chuffed to bits."

Chris reviewed: Woodturning courses in Norfolk

"Absolutely brilliant day with Nick. This was my first experience of wood turning and I enjoyed it thoroughly. Nick helped me out and gave me pointers when I needed it, to help me progress. From learning spindle work in the morning to finishing off with a nice bowl in the afternoon. Don't hesitate to book a day, you won't regret it. It's very "cool" Thanks again, Nick."

Peter reviewed: Green wood chair making - 6 day woodworking course in Devon

"This course was an inspiration to me. I have very limited woodworking experience, and going from a log of ash to a chair in 6 days is a steep learning curve, but completely absorbing. I was very happy to end the week with such a lovely chair, all of which I had made myself, and I am now planning to go on Peter's shave horse course and to have another go at chair making at home. Peter is an excellent teacher and his workshop is in a wonderful location only a few minutes walk from the South Devon Coast Path. I highly recommend this course."

pat reviewed: Weaving workshop one day

"I was given my day of weaving as a gift - and it has been a most wonderful treat! On arrival (15mins from Station), I marvelled at Katherines fabulous work on sale in her shop before joining a small group in the well equiped workshop downstairs. After Katherines excellent explanatory talk we each began our chance of weaving a piece. It was exciting selecting yarns from the large choice available and then settling to a spell of creativity! Katherines help is near should you need it, and I appreciated her encouraging and most helpful manner. Time flies, its peaceful, friendly, fun and hugely engrossing. I'm amazed at my achievement! A very happy day! Many thanks Katherine."

"Spent the day with Colin and had a fantastic time. He is really a good instructor and has a wealth of knowledge. Takes the time to explain everything no matter what your level of experience is. I had never done any blacksmith work before and was able to complete 4 pieces which looked really good. Workshop is well setup and has all the tools required. Would not hesitate to recommend this course to anyone."

Pat reviewed: Weaving workshop half day

"I had a great time at Katherine's weaving workshop. As a complete novice it was a great way to try weaving and get to know a little more about the whole process from making the warp to cutting off the fabric. I was really impressed with what I achieved in the time and it was lovely to have a piece of my very own fabric to take away!"

"Ring making course was our second time with Toni. Me and my friend Renata made our first silver rings ever . Had a fabulous day again . I have done a couple of metal clay courses in London where I felt rushed not being able to finish the piece as I would like to as we had to start another project . With Toni, the class felt much more relaxed and I actually went home with finished piece .Radka"

Caity Murray reviewed: Felt making for beginners - learn how to make a beautiful piece of wet felted fabric

"As a complete beginner to all things crafty, this was an excellent introduction and has definitely given me the bug! I still can't believe I actually made felt! Considering fuzzy felt was about the depth of my felt knowledge. Kat was a fabulous teacher, full of knowledge and made me feel very relaxed. I did this with my Mum, as did everyone and was an excellent opportunity to hang out, would thoroughly recommend it!"

Aileen Ford reviewed: Weaving: the journey begins

"My 16 year old son attended this course. He is interested in taking up weaving as a career. Ashleigh created a one to one day for him, letting him try different looms & techniques. He had a lovely lunch included in the price. He brought home samples he'd woven & handouts & lots of useful advice. He got a great follow up email with loads of links & can go back for a follow up course for £30. A great course run by a really nice guy. A really good way to get into weaving."

Ria reviewed: Weekend upholstery courses - Oxfordshire & Berkshire Borders

"I attended this course at the weekend and had a wonderful time. It was my first introduction to upholstery and I couldn't have asked for a better teacher and a nicer bunch of people to be doing the course with. I'm normally a nervous student, but Philip put us all at ease. We were given a toolbox for the weekend which saved us having to fork out on tools and the extra materials that we needed to purchase like polyester wadding, kaliko etc were cheap. Before we got stuck into our own projects, Philip invited us to gather around each person's piece of furniture to look at how one would go about reupholstering it. Like another reviewer said, we learnt different techniques through demonstrations on everyone else's pieces throughout the weekend. It was great to see the progress everyone had made by the end of the weekend. It was an honour to be taught by someone with such a high level of workmanship which is one of the reasons why I found the course such good value for money. I'm very much looking forward to the next course. Thank you Philip!"

Susie reviewed: Weaving workshop half day

"A really great and inexpensive way to give weaving a try! The first 45 minutes was an introduction into how looms are set up and then the rest of the time was our own to try out whatever we liked, be it different patterns, colours or textures of yarns. I love the piece of fabric I created and have made it into a little purse! I will definitely go back to do a full day!"

Mike reviewed: Weaving workshop one day

"We had a fab afternoon, immersed in weaving - very informative and relaxing at the same time. Thought Katherine was lovely and we aim to return at some point to learn more about threading up the loom and the warping process. I came away with a piece of work that I was really proud of, although now will appreciate more the hours and talent that goes into creating handmade fabrics. Thank you.”"

"One day course was great fun, a good mix of tuition and being left to have a go (in a safe controlled way). I made a Rams Head poker which is used with pride and joy even when the fire doesn't need it :). I would recommend this course to anyone who has ever wondered what it would be like. Alex is very skilled and good company."
