Karen Olorenshaw reviewed: Machine embroidery - stitch doodling with Julie Brand at Tigley Textiles in Worcester

"A fabulous day showing us how to do free machine embroidery. Julie let us go at our own pace and encouraged us throughout. We all produced beautiful outcomes and the day was an absolute delight. Can't wait to play more!"

Natalie reviewed: KF Creative Mosaics Workshop with Karen Frosdick – Make a beautiful 30cms mosaic bowl

"Very enjoyable, relaxing too. Would consider attending again. Learnt about the craft as well as made a lovely bowl! Able to make own creative, individual bowl. We were encouraged and directed well so we could create our own piece which is‎ unique rather than follow a prescribed pattern. So many different styles were created in the one class. ‎Tutor was fun and informative, time for all. Clear info, all great!"

Rachael Clark reviewed: A one day spoon carving course

"What a wonderful teacher! Sharif was exceptionally patient and encouraging - he coped with our mad family which is no mean feat! We learnt a whole array of skills and I for one cannot wait to get back and fine tune the spoon we made on the day! We are looking into times to come and do the bowl turning next! Cannot recommend Sharif highly enough - thank you!"

Renee Brailsford reviewed: Oak stool making experience - rustic carpentry & green wood work

"We had a great time woodworking with Ian, my children (7 & 10) made walking staffs which are now regularly used on walks. They learned about the traditional tools they used, the different types of wood and found themselves immersed in 'the making'. Ian is a natural teacher with a very gentle & patient manner and his passion for the craft is inspiring. Thanks!"

Gillian Thomas reviewed: Knife Making and Bladesmith Classes: Hand-Forged Viking Knife

"I thoroughly enjoyed the day and made a knife which is (startlingly) capable of neatly slicing tomatoes! Perfect for re-enactment cookery. I am quite small so have realised it would have maybe been a little easier with one of the lower anvils; definitely using the angle grinder at a lower bench was a good move, but age and gender are no excuse for not trying this class. A complete escape from daily life and challenging enough to give a great sense of achievement, but manageable too. Delicious lunch. Book soon because I am telling all my friends to go."

Gillian Thomas reviewed: Lampwork Bead-Making Taster Day

"I enjoyed this day and made 11 beads which are perfect for a Viking re-enactor. Good variety of techniques to try. I subsequently discovered I needed new glasses so I am going back for a second day when I will hopefully be able to see a little more clearly! Fun, but quite hard work concentrating. Enjoyable lunch."

Sheila Page reviewed: Stained glass introduction at Blue Kite Stained Glass

"I booked this course for me and my husband to have a taster into Stained Glass. Ian was very informative and made the day relaxing and fun. We both learnt a lot and thoroughly enjoyed the day and would highly recommend it. The course was easy to book, and Ian provided a good amount of detail prior. The course only involves a maximum of 3 people so you have Ian's attention and help to guide you through the day and we were both pleasantly surprised at the item we both made. Well worth the money."

"What a fantastic day! Myself & a friend were treated like royalty, with cakes, biscuits & tea on tap. A full day of throwing was overseen with endless patience by Mark, who was lovely & constantly encouraging us both to keep throwing. It was a fantastic experience in a hugely characterful environment. An inspirational day, and one that I fully intend to repeat. HAVE A GO YOU WON'T REGRET IT!!!"

Neil Morris reviewed: Introduction to green wood craft - a two day course

"3 wonderful days. Dave and his team could not have done anymore to make this course perfect. There knowledge, skill levels, enthusiasm and encouragement were outstanding. A wide range of skills learnt, both from the woodland work and the workshop. Really chuffed with my stool and the mallet is something special. Thank you. Well worth the trip from Bristol. Sheffield has lots to offer and my wife thoroughly enjoyed her stay as well, lots of places to walk."

Lesley Goulbourne reviewed: Forge your own silver spoon, two day course

"I did this course a little while ago and enjoyed it very much. All the tools needed were available and Charlotte was good at giving clear instruction while putting me at ease. Once shown how to do a stage she stood back and let me get on with it whilst keeping an eye on me. My version was more rustic looking than Charlottes examples, but I was pleased with the end result and use my spoon every day. All in all an enjoyable two days with something to take home at the end of it (after hallmarking). It's a good way of getting an insight into the amount of work that goes on to produce something that is hand made and unique as no two spoons will turn out the same."

Noreen Lillie reviewed: 2 Day felting course with naturally dyed fleece, Wild Rose Escapes, Highlands, Scotland

"My friend and I attended the weekend felting course and both really enjoyed it. Rosie is an excellent and knowledgeable teacher, with exactly the right balance of input and encouragement to go with your own creation. I learned a lot in a short time and would feel confident enough to try to do some wet felting on my own. I hadn't expected to make something so large (a wall hanging) and loved the fact that there was an unlimited amount of beautiful natural hand dyed fleece to experiment with. We had a lovely lunch both days, sitting outside at the end of October in the beautiful Cannich countryside. Thank-you Rosie, would definitely recommend this course."

Alana reviewed: Blacksmith Experience Day - Anvil Forge

"My partner and I went on this course as a birthday treat and would highly recommend it. We picked this blacksmithing experience because you could choose to work on your own projects in the afternoon. We made a number plate for our house which worked out perfectly with the team's support. They encouraged us to be more ambitious and helped us to also make a garden sculpture. I found the team really supportive across the whole day. It was also great fun meeting the others on the course and seeing what they worked on."
