Private One to One Stained glass by Le Breton Traditional (near Exeter/Crediton/Tiverton)
Description
Alongside my regular one day group classes (see other listing) I also run on demand one-on-one classes. These are for individuals or private groups who want to have my full attention, either to create a larger piece with my close guidance or now in these COVID times to limit their exposure to others. The class will be personally designed around the technique or project that is the focus. The normal course covers both "Tiffany" copper foiling and leaded styles and both of these can be explored in these classes or hybrid techniques. There is also opportunity for doing kiln fired glass painting, silver staining and enamelling. As I use superfast Dutch Gas kilns we can actually paint fire and combine work in a piece in the space of a single day. Bring your own ideas! You can contact to discuss by email the practicality of attempting a particular piece so that the day is tailored to your needs. I have had a whole range of couples, friends, and family groups and produced some truely beautiful pieces on these private days. As an established business with over 17 years of experience of Glasswork and Teaching as Le Breton Traditional I have lots of examples of different projects that you can undertake. For more information you can also click on the 'message the tutor' button. The course cost is £375. This cost covers teaching for up to 3 people. Extra people attending have an additional fee of £125. The cost can be reduced sometimes by sharing the day with another individual that I can timetable together with you or by having a shorter duration day. Please enquire for possible dates or arrangements that can be agreed. You can Learn - to cut glass confidently, to create and work to a design, to paint and silver stain beautiful details onto your glass and to copper foil or lead a piece together with solder These leisure based courses are run at the Devon Applied Arts Workshop ("DAA Workshop" for short!) postcode is EX5 4DU. Due to the care needed when handling lead (particularly for children) I have specific arrangements and procedures in place to ensure full safety at all times. It is also not advisable for pregnant women to attend. Note that I am also running regular monthly group classes on the last Saturdays and Sundays of the month which are a lower cost. Check my other listing on this craft courses site (look for the circles picture!) If you wish to book as a present for a loved one please do check me out and contact me to check on availability of specific dates and your individual requirements prior to booking or purchasing a voucher.

Maker
I work as a teacher and artisan both in stained glass and traditional buiding techniques. After a Fine Art degree I first started stained glass myself in 2002 as an evening class and never looked back. I have a passion for traditional crafts and I enjoy being able to bring enthusiam and energy to teaching others. The glass courses I run at our purpose built applied arts workshop are designed to give students the chance to develop their own ideas and it is amazing what gets produced.

Yes, The initial instruction session is done in a group around a presentation table. So nice and close and easy to hear, or lip reread. The teaching is then done by the tutor circulating around the students and guiding them individually so no need to try to hear from a distance. There are "toolbox" talks throughout, where everyone is gathered in again to see a particular process. Apparently I have a very clear loud voice!!!
