Mary Cleaton reviewed: Green Woodwork and Pole Lathe day

"A hugely informative and enjoyable day. Chris is an excellent teacher - very patient and able to transmit not only the 'how' but the 'why' of what you're doing so that you truly learn rather than just going through the motions. He assists when necessary but always lets you retain ownership of your piece, go at your own pace and get sufficient practice in each step. His workshop is well-stocked and he has a selection of each type of tool which you can use in order to learn more about your tool preferences. Overall, a most excellent teacher with a well designed course. The beautiful, tranquil setting and the absolutely delicious home-made food were an extra bonus. I would thoroughly recommend this."

Heather Robinson reviewed: Two day mosaic course with Joy Sturgess in Scarborough, North Yorkshire

"I really enjoyed my two day mosaic course with Joy. Joy was knowledgable, kind and generous with her sharing of knowledge and experience, as well as her willingness to assist. Although I had worked with mosaic in the direct method, the indirect method was really interesting to learn and a very different approach to the way I was used to working. I highly recommend spending time with Joy making mosaics, it is such a relaxing, therapeutic, and enjoyable way to spend the day."

Marianne Potgieter reviewed: Pottery Course in Orpington, Kent

"The Clay room UK provides a wide variety of ceramic courses at a very high standard. Classes are offered form a beautiful studio in Kent with lovely views of the surrounding countryside. Ample parking available. Prices are very reasonable for the quality of lessons received. There is lots of space for throwing and hand building - there is also a sociable aspect to the classes where I have met so many lovely and creative people. Sophie's ceramic expertise is second to none and she is always happy to share her knowledge. I highly recommend the Clay Room UK's classes. You don't need to have any prior knowledge of pottery etc. come and try it!"

Andrea reviewed: Introduction to candle-making as a business

"I absolutely recommend this wonderful day with Jo in her beautiful home. Having researched a number of candle making courses I decided to travel from London to attend this course as it appeared to offer the best all round tuition and value for money. I was so glad that I made the trip, it was nothing short of an amazing day. Jo is exceptionally experienced and was really generous both with the products she taught us to make and her wealth of knowledge. We made so many products with different sized candles and waxes and the Christmas tree decorations was an added bonus that I hadn't considered making before. It was a fabulous experience not only to learn a new skill but living in a city it was so refreshing to get out into the countryside and enjoy Jo's beautiful barn far away from the crowds. I loved that this was a truly personal experience, there were only three of us on the course as Jo likes to focus on small numbers to ensure all of her attendees receive a lot of personal attention. I really enjoyed Jo's company along with the two other overly ladies on the course. I came away thoroughly inspired, so much so that ordered the products to make my own and had a go yesterday. I haven't lit any yet to allow them to cure but they look a,axing. I have lit some of the tea lights I made with Jo and they smell wonderful. Don't hesitate to book on this course if you want a fantastic experience and to genuinely learn from an expert. Many thanks Jo!"

"What a fantastic day , John and Spencer are very welcoming and soooo full of knowledge and skill. Really can not recommend this enough , even if you've never worked with metal before ( I haven't since school about 30 yrs ago) the team a great at guiding you through everything .
