Shona Cooper reviewed: Mosaic and Glass Art 2 day Course

"What a fantastic couple of days at Pretty Rubbish Mosaics with Maggie. She took us through all the stages from tool, materials, design and grouting and we left with three finished pieces and the confidence to carry on at home. Amazing what can be produced from broken cups and plates. A beautiful, peaceful setting and lovely garden showing off Maggie's creations. Hopefully get back soon to do another workshop in glass work. Highly recommended."

Pretty Rubbish Mosaics responded:

Roger Pinnock reviewed: Skills - Ultimate power tools

"I was given this as a Christmas present, and what a brilliant gift it proved to be. David is a personable and highly knowledgeable teacher, with a vast array of power tools available. He carefully checked what I wanted to get out of the day before we started, and made sure we achieved it all. As a late starter, I was chuffed to get the advice and confidence I need in selecting the tools I am yet to buy, and in setting up and using those I already have. Thoroughly recommended."

Lewis MacFarlane reviewed: One day welding course: an introduction

"Recently attended a 1-day welding course at Julian's workshop. When booking the course beforehand, I'd discussed with Julian why I wanted to learn to weld and as a result, the course was very heavily tailored to my needs. The theory was taught in a very succinct manner, easy to understand. Loads of time spent hands-on welding. As others have said, to get good takes practice. I thought that Julian taught me what I needed to know to improve quickly with practice. What to look for, techniques to focus on etc. A superb course, excellent value for money. Highly recommended."

Jo Kemp reviewed: Tuesday evening printmaking course at Lavender Print School

"The course was fantastic! I learnt a huge amount, gained a keen interest in printmaking and have signed up to do more classes with the studio. The class size was small, the teaching style thorough and encouraging, the equipment at the studio was good and it is located in an easy-to-reach place."

Rob Kennard reviewed: Woodturning courses in Hampshire - Beginners and improvers wood turning courses - Turn British, all British lathes!!

"I recently attended a wood turning beginners day with Andy at his fantastically equipped workshop in Fordingbridge. As someone who has dabbled (not very successfully!) in wood turning in the past, this was the ideal course for me. Andy has an adaptability in his teaching approach and superb knowledge and skill. With Andy's help I was able to take away a very lovely bowl in cedar, and Andy has given me the confidence to progress in my own turning once again. Many thanks to Andy for a superb day! Rob"

Eleanor Hellier reviewed: Sculpture, ceramics, painting at Lucky Studio - London

"Both my children went to Saturday morning art/ceramics classes at Lucky's studio from the ages of 4 to 14. Over the years they developed their skills in a wide variety of media, which included clay modelling, working on the potter's wheel, learning how to prepare their work for firing and how to paint and glaze it, drawing, papier mache, painting in poster paints. watercolours, & acrylics. Lucky encourages the children to draw inspiration from an amazing range of sources, and to put something of their personality into all the work they do. The annual exhibitions of the childrens' work are beautifully and lovingly mounted, and a joy to visit. The atmosphere in the classes is relaxed and enjoyable, My two children loved going to Lucky's every week."

Isata reviewed: Beginners Weaving with the Rigid Heddle Loom - at All in a Spin

"I did the one day beginner’s course, had a relaxing yet stimulating day, and came away with lots of enthusiasm and the knowledge to plan, warp up and work on my own projects. Dunja paces the course very well and gives attention and help to each weaver as needed, offering a wealth of knowledge and skill. The course is very hands on, with everyone involved from the start. It was great to be able to take away a finished piece at the end, and my only regret was not signing up to a second day. There’s a peaceful rhythm to the course and to the weaving itself, and the studio and surroundings are beautiful. Thank you for a perfect day, and an excellent introduction to weaving!"

Carole Hassall reviewed: Beginners Pottery Day Course

"I would recommend this course to everyone. Matthew deserves the "excellent" rating. I thoroughly enjoyed the days course! Matthew was an enthusiastic, methodical, patient teacher and I found learning from him very easy. I made several pots in the morning and due to Matthews excellent teaching I was ready to progress onto making jugs in the afternoon. He talked me through making these and I felt so confident I made 2!! If you are thinking of learning wait no longer, look no further book a course with Matthew."

Andy Wright reviewed: Wood turning courses

"Big thanks to George for his patience, expertise and vision on my Wood turning day. I arrived not really knowing what to expect from a 1-2-1 tuition - but I was warmly welcomed by both George and Susan. The day ran at a relaxed pace, with good measures of refreshment breaks and extra learning, demonstrating techniques that George uses on his masterpieces. The workshop is extremely well equipped and made me realise immediately that I need to update my equipment in order to consistently achieve quality results. I can't fault the course content, methods of teaching or the endless supply of treats, drinks, lunch, and even cake ! Thank you so much, I had a fantastic time, and I can guarantee I will be back for a visit ! Andi"

"Did a one day leading workshop for two with my dad and can’t praise it enough! Both had a wonderful day and are very pleased with our pieces. Jamal was very welcoming, patient and supportive.
