"I spent last Saturday doing this printing and lampshade workshop with my daughter. We had a lovely day with Ria teaching us all the new skills needed to produce a unique and very lovely lampshade. Ria's enthusiasm, helpfulness and creativity made the day fly by and it was a day I would certainly repeat and recommend. Lunch in the restaurant in the courtyard was good too! Thank you"

Barbara Mitchell reviewed: Stained Glass and Pique Assiette Mosaics course

"Blue Sky Mosaics is a wonderful and relaxing venue to get your creative juices running. Ann is such an inspirational, knowledgeable and patient tutor who guided me through the technique and helped me complete a large outdoor mural. Plenty of exciting materials to choose from and a welcome cuppa to drink as you browse around the Aladdins Cave. I was hooked on day one and have gone on to create many different pieces at home. Would definitely recommend."

"Great course! Experienced, talented tutors and a well equipped studio. I learned a lot and left feeling really inspired to get to grips with this amazing and challenging craft. I had a lot of one on one time with the tutors, and felt encouraged to develop my own artistic ideas as well as learning the technical skills and techniques required to bring them to life."

Hazel Mills reviewed: Needle felting workshop - Create your own woodland creature

"I was a complete novice to felting and Denise made me so welcome, encouraging me that I would surprise myself by the end of the workshop. Denise is an excellent coach and took us through the materials and equipment used before starting us off on our very own Harry (or was it Harriet?) Hare. It is a very relaxing craft and apart from needing to understand the basic principles and receiving some very helpful tips on technique, the outcome was guaranteed. Each creation had its own character and it was fun to see the other hares develop. I would totally recommend this as a day to spend learning and enjoying. Thank you, Denise. Hazelx"

Crafty Gal responded:

"Hazel your hare was brilliant - it was so lovely to see your confidence grow as he/she started to appear under your needles, well done you! You're no novice now! I'm looking forward to seeing what you go on to next, remember I'm here if you need any advice, good luck."

Julie Roberts reviewed: Needle felting workshop - Create your own woodland creature

"What a lovely day, start to finish and I have an impressive hare to show for it! Can't believe I actually made him but thanks to Denise for her expert tuition and also leaving room for your own creativity I feel I have the confidence to try something else at home. I already have an order for another hare. The silence at times was testament to the levels of concentration around the table and the 5 hours went in a flash. I may well sign up to do another course. A great skill to learn, oh and lunch was great too. Highly recommended, thank you Denise"

Crafty Gal responded:

"I'm so thrilled you enjoyed the day as much as I did Julie, your hare was fantastic and I can't wait to see the next one you do. It's always such fun to see everyone start with so much doubt that they could actually make the hare, then see them virtually skipping out with the thrill of what they've created. Remember I'm here if you need any help, or hopefully I'll see you at a future workshop. Good luck."

Catherine Massey reviewed: Christmas Decorations in Art and Floristry

"Very relaxing, friendly and inspiring Wednesday craft classes. We have covered ceramic painting, block printing on paper (making our own blocks), stitching to make unique cards and felt flowers for fairy lights, knitting twine body mitts and making our own body scrubs. Jo is encouraging and supportive and will show you craft techniques - great if you have ever wondered or forgotten how to cast on or off! It's a wonderful way to decompress, and learn some new skills too."

Taryn Ferris reviewed: A Practical Dry Stone Walling Workshop Central London

"I signed up for this course as a garden designer - enthusiasm to learn this craft for my design portfolio but with limited practical experience in hard landscaping. I have come away with understanding, knowledge, and hands-on experience in building stone walling from foundation to toppers. John was engaging and clear with instructions explaining historical design styles and practicalities of dry stone construction before we started and then pointing out important considerations, possible mistakes, or need for certain stone choice and placement as we proceeded. This really is a skill that can only be learned in the doing and John very skillfully instructed us when the time was right and then let us learn for ourselves as we built our walls throughout the day. With the growing height of the walls came confidence in our stone placement choices. John finished the day with certificates and by asking us to reflect on gained knowledge - which I found really useful. I will never forget that the foundation of a wall should be half the wall height, and the top of the wall will be half the the width of the foundation. Thank you John!"

London School of Dry Stone Walling responded:

"Thank you for your kind feed back Taryn. It was a pleasure to work with you. I do hope you are able to use the experience during your landscaping projects."

Norman Wake reviewed: Digital Photography - Improvers with St Ives Adult Learning

"The coverage of the course was impressive and well presented by the course tutor. The class size was just about right and we were all at there same level proficiency by and large. I would like to do the course a second time as I missed one evening and had to catch up. Always to be avoided if possible."

Chris Jepson reviewed: Woodturning Course in North Yorkshire with Philip Greenwood RPT

"I had a very informative, hands-on and informative day with Philip yesterday. I have never even attempted to turn wood before, had only ever seen it done at woodworking shows. Philip took me through everything I need to know from safety, tool requirements and basic setup, through to all the basic techniques to get started turning bowls and spindles. I got everything I needed out of the day and the value for money is great. The location of the workshop is superb and thanks to Philips wife Wendy for providing refreshments throughout the day. I now need to acquire all the various tools and machinery before I can start turning on my own but I am confident that I could start practising the techniques shown and before long be producing turned items to a good standard. Thank you Philip and Wendy, all the best."

"Booked in for this course as a post Christmas treat with my Mum. Can't recommend it enough! It really is a 'fail safe' craft as described on the website. Easy to understand, clear instructions, maximum support and guidance from the very talented Tania, immediate result and such fun. No pressure, media allows you to do your own thing. Very pleased with the results, and we are both keen to continue at home. Great day out ??"

Hannah reviewed: Pottery Throwing (Group Discounts Available) Lessons in Worcester

"My boyfriend organised for us both to complete a one off pottery class as my christmas gift which we completed last Thursday evening. I had wanted to have a go since watching The Great Pottery Throwdown. I had a fantastic evening having a go on the wheel and decorating tiles (both were harder than they looked) but Chris was a great teacher who was patient, informative and made us both feel at ease. We are already looking to book again and I am recommending to friends and family! The only bad thing was that my boyfriend was better than me!"

Emily reviewed: Regular ceramic & glazing tuition and pottery wheel workshops Shetland

"Thank you so much Sonje! We had such a great time on our all day pottery and clay workshop at Sonje's studio in Princetown, Dartmoor. Her artwork and pottery is beautiful and she was a fantastic teacher, encouraging us to find our own style, teaching us lots of new skills and keeping the day really fun. She was great in tailoring the day to what we were looking for; a one day private session with 4 of us so i would really recommend getting in touch with her to talk about what you would like to do! Thanks again, we had a great time and would really recommend Sonje's workshops to anyone who is new to pottery and clay to give it a go!!"

Werxzovart responded:

"Thankyou Emily, It was such a great day for me as well and I am so pleased you all enjoyed yourselves! If you are ever in West Yorkshire do pop in and say hello! Sonje"

Helen and James reviewed: Pottery throwing course in the South Downs National Park (one day - one-to-one)

"We did a 1 day course with Rowena - one of us a complete novice and the other with a CSE in Ceramics from a long time ago! Neither of us had ever thrown a pot or used a pottery wheel before. Rowena demonstrated how to use the wheel and then guided each of us patiently through our first bowl. She is a very encouraging and patient teacher and gets the most out of students via praise! She achieves the perfect balance between providing enough support but also encouraging independence and confidence. With her support and many instances of her 'saving' our efforts we produced 4 bowls each. In the afternoon we made and decorated tiles and a bowl which was also good fun. A really great and inspiring day. We would totally recommend Rowena to anyone wanting to have a go. Also just a great day out and escape from it all. We will definitely be returning to see if we can build on our efforts. Thank you Rowena"
