My leather craft workshop days are designed to be all about you…. getting hands on and making your very own hand stitched leather goods at my new Northamptonshire Workshop in Whittlebury (near Silverstone) with free on-site parking. On the Small Leather Goods Workshop you can choose when you arrive to make either a; Tuck Flap or snap closure Leather Cardholder, Leather Belt or Dog Collar & Lead or Phone sleeve from a choice of premium grade vegetable tanned leathers. You’ll be the ‘maker’ cutting and saddle stitching your very own leather item to take home and enjoy for years to come. This workshop is geared for people with some or no experience of working with leather, with a maximum of four people attending but the Workshop will run with just one booking if thats all that books on the day. You will learn how to mark out, cut and chisel punch your stitching holes, wax your thread and saddle stitch your item and finally finish your item by burnishing the edges. For the Belt making you’ll have a choice of buckles and you’ll also have the choice in using the strap cutter to cut your belt from the hide, and strap end punches to finish off your very own leather Belt. The most popular width belt made is a 1.5 inch width, perfect for jeans or casual wear. If you would like to make a different size width just let us know when booking and we’ll ensure we have the correct size buckles. Don’t worry at all if you’re unfamiliar with any of the above as you’ll be given demos of each stage and fully guided through the making process. You’ll be pleasantly surprised at how quickly you’ll pick it up. We’ll also discuss the different types of leather tanning processes and you’ll be encouraged to practice cutting etc. on off-cuts of leather to build your confidence and you’ll also receive an info pack on where to buy leathers, tools and hardware if you wished to take your new skills forward later at your own pace at home. There is nothing better than the feeling of making your very own leather goods that you’ll love to use and last you for decades, ageing uniquely over the years. What's included in the price?

We have no hidden extras on our courses. All the leather and any hardware fittings are included in your course cost along with use of all the tools you’ll need to make your very own leather item which are sanitised after each course. We also provide teas/coffees and biscuits. If you have any specific dietary needs, please bring them along.
