Barbara Seed reviewed: Furzie: Needle-felting course at From Home, Berkeley, Gloucestershire

"Loved everything about it - perfect venue, course pitched just right, everyone was encouraged and helped to just the right degree. Everyone went home with something that they were absolutely chuffed with and without a clutch of useful, transferable techniques. Excellent value for money and such a lovely way to spend the day. Couldn't fault it! Many thanks, Michelle!"

kathie reviewed: Pottery wheel throwing and hand building full day

"Just had a fantastic day, really enjoyed it. Richard is a very patient, skillful and knowledgable teacher. He was even able to get a left hander to throw a pot right handed, which was a challenge for me and probably him but he didnt show it. I cannot rate this course or the lovely lunch especially the beetroot highly enough. If your considering this course but not sure, go for it. Its relaxing, informative and fun. I highly recommend it."

Potterydayz responded:

"Hello Kathie Thank you very much for the wonderful review, it was a pleasure teaching you. So pleased you enjoyed the home grown beetroot as well as the course, see you again soon."

James Stead reviewed: Clay modelling - sculpt a classical portrait

"An excellent workshop for any level of student. There are numerous tips to pick up, not just the tools and processes involved in sculpting. Having a tutor like Miranda helped to point out lots of insightful observations of the structure of the face and the small differences in form, which describe an individual face. I have come away knowing a lot more about the contours of the face and also the facial areas I have to work on in the future. Miranda was very supportive and flexible in her approach to everyone. Her comments were always instructive and never critical, welcoming different working styles. The sculpting room was comfortable and produced a lovely working and relaxed atmosphere between everyone."

Mary Bowman reviewed: Hide camp - deer skin into buckskin

"This course is a must. Jessie and Jane are two of the loveliest people I've had the pleasure of meeting - amongst the many other amazing new faces I befriended at Hide Camp 2018. The setting is stunning, the food is beautiful and the atmosphere is beyond warm and welcoming. It is incredible to watch the skill and passion these ladies devote to tanning - something I was delighted to absorb and hope very much to carry on. Although the tanning is slightly laborious, it was one of the most relaxing and fun weeks I've had in a very long time - the chilled out evenings of music and stories round the hearth more than certainly make up for it. Would strongly recommend to anyone with any interest in tanning, or pretty much anyone!"

SARA SHEPHERD reviewed: Clay modelling - sculpt a classical portrait

"This course appealed to me as I wanted to learn how to sculpt a face so I can apply the techniques to cake making. I have learnt how to use clay (which I was a complete novice to), use of tools, how to look for lines to help build the model, the importance of muscles in getting the correct shapes and many more techniques. Miranda Wakeman is a brilliant tutor who instructs you through every stage and pointing out areas that need 'tweeking' so you come away with a life size facial sculpture. I thoroughly enjoyed my 3 days at this site, the room was very airy and comfortable, parking is available and the hours passed quickly. I would highly recommend this course and are confident you will not be disappointed with the result, many thanks to Sally who organises everything."

Sandy Blackmore reviewed: Shabby chic and upcycling

"A totally fascinating course - I came away with so many ideas I don't know where to start.....!! I learned all about mixing different paints, waxing, finishing, decorating, decoupage, stencils and making my own chalk paint from practically any left-over paint I might have - and much, much more. So much information was crammed into the day and gave me a whole new perspective on just how varied and interesting "painting" can be. Extremely interesting, a whole lot of fun and highly recommended."

Lynda Harris reviewed: Stone Carving Workshop

"This was an excellent course and we achieved so much more than expected largely due to Olly giving everyone the confidence to believe we could do it. Both Olly and Rosina were excellent hosts and Rosina must have worked really hard to provide us with wonderful food and plenty to keep us hydrated. Olly is an excellent teacher, motivating and patient and always good humoured. I don't know what I expected but this course gave me a real insight into stone carving and a lovely example of the craft to bring home and display. Very many thanks to both."

As an added bonus, the course is dog friendly. I would recommend Cheshire School of Glass to anyone; no matter how experienced you think you are! Cheers Jen."

Andrew Summers reviewed: Beginners stained glass workshops using copper foil.

"We asked Jo to come to our premises in South Yorkshire for a team building day. There were six of us so Jo told us that she would have to adjust the workshop slightly to allow everyone to have a go at soldering. We were offered a great selection of pre-cut glass to design our lightcatchers. During the session Jo was able to explain the history of stained glass and we all found her delightful and informative. We were all given a go at soldering (harder than you may think) Later on, Jo asked us if we would like to have a go at cutting glass. Great fun but it really is a skilled task. My team enjoyed their day immensely and I felt that it bought us all together. Highly recommended, thank you#Andy"
