Gemma Richards reviewed: Candle making course (introductory) - in the heart of the Ashdown Forest, Sussex

"Had the most enjoyable morning candle making yesterday, my mum in law and I were incredibly lucky as there were some cancellations so we actually ended up having a one to one workshop. It was so informative but super fun too, loved learning about all the different techniques and ‘hand dipping’ was a highlight for sure. Would recommend the class to anyone and everyone, great to learn a new skill!"

Serefina reviewed: Stonecarving Weekend, Gloucestershire Cotswolds

"Great course, beautiful setting. Sebastian strikes a good mix between guiding you and encouraging you to challenge yourself and create something that you might not otherwise tackle. This was evident in how absolutely different the pieces were that we all created. It was a peaceful, relaxed weekend and we were lucky to have gorgeous weather too! Thanks, we will definitely be back xx"

Roz reviewed: Wet felted bowls, vessels and vases

"Thanks Kat! I really appreciated the small group, it helped bond the group and I don’t think anyone felt (sorry, pun not intended) left out. The venue was easy to find and a lovely work space. I appreciated the demonstration at each stage, and explanations as to why we were doing what we were doing. I enjoyed the chat and encouragement we received from you and each of the participants. I loved the end product. Who doesn’t enjoy learning a new skill and sense of achievement at the end of it?"

Adam newell reviewed: Blacksmithing for Beginners - Full Day Forging for One

"Cant reccomend this course highly enough. Chris is passionate about his craft and generally a cracking bloke. This is not just a stp by step build, you come away with a great understanding of the processes needed for sucessful blacksmithing. Chris is also very forthcoming in offering advice for how to continue at home. Book early, as there is a waiting list for a reason."

Michelle Freeman reviewed: Introduction to candle-making as a business

"My mum and I had a wonderful day candle making with Jo. She was so knowledgeable and helpful. I loved that we made different types of candles and using left over wax on tea lights was a genius way of maximising our money. You don’t need to make any notes because Jo has it all covered in a handout. Lovely lunch downstairs too. I would thoroughly recommend this course to anyone. It’s great value for money and you come away with so many goodies. I have made lots of candles at home but none have smelt as nice as the ones I made on this workshop. I am super proud of my creations ?"

Robert Jeffery reviewed: Learn to Turn in the Dartmoor National Park

"I thoroughly enjoyed a day with Chris Foweraker, who guided me through creating a beautiful sycamore bowl, in a systematic way, with clear explanation throughout and at a pace which was stimulating and not rushed. He encouraged me to learn by demonstration, encouragement and allowing me to make small mistakes, before discussing and correcting them. Thanks, Alison, for a wonderful birthday present, and to Chris for fine company! The comforting aroma of worked wood will be my lasting memory."

Joan reviewed: Kate Morrell willow sculpture courses

"Superb day of craftwork. Made a willow chicken along with her chick and Kate kindly added a couple more chicks so I had a real family. Kate's teaching was excellent, she provided cake and coffee and a super lunch and we worked in her lovely garden, what more could you wish for on a beautiful summers day. There were only two of us on the course today which we agreed was great as we had lots of individual tuition but usually the numbers are more, up to six, but given her skills that would be fine I'm sure. If you fancy a go at Willow sculpture this is definitely the lady to go to. Thank you Kate for such a lovely day."

James Stead reviewed: Clay modelling - sculpt a classical portrait

"An excellent workshop for any level of student. There are numerous tips to pick up, not just the tools and processes involved in sculpting. Having a tutor like Miranda helped to point out lots of insightful observations of the structure of the face and the small differences in form, which describe an individual face. I have come away knowing a lot more about the contours of the face and also the facial areas I have to work on in the future. Miranda was very supportive and flexible in her approach to everyone. Her comments were always instructive and never critical, welcoming different working styles. The sculpting room was comfortable and produced a lovely working and relaxed atmosphere between everyone."
